A few questions:
What size needle are you using? For the subq method (tummy poking), it should be the itty bitty needles like diabetics use. That makes the smallest hole. So, less chance of bleeding.
Did you wipe your tummy down well with an alcohol pad? Did you let it dry all the way? I've found that the only time I get the burning is when I've accidentally gotten some of the alcohol into the injection site. (And, yes, it burned/ached for about 1/2 hour after!)
Make sure you're at least two inches away from your belly button, I try to do my jab into the "fattiest" part of my belly. I also jab a different spot every day - just sort of alternating sides.
Sometimes you will bleed a bit, most of the time you shouldn't. At least, that's my experience.![]()
