    Bebol:

What side effects are you having? You think MY enthusiasm is infectious? You feeling like you had 20 cups of coffee?! Come to MY house! I took a NAP today - which I NEVER do. And I am planning on getting to bed early. I want to take on the world with you! Working all day would be another added strain. I remember the days before my little Kodiak came along (my 2 1/2 year old little boy) and work was stressful and filled with MANY opportunities of watching the employee fridge wanting this or that to cope with all the stress. But, being at home isn't much easier I don't think. I walk by the fridge 20-30 times a day going through the house and although it hasn't been an issue so far, I do find myself catching myself while making a snack or a meal for my hubby and son wanting to unconsciously take a "taste" or finish up the leftovers. I think I even remember having dreams last night about accidentally eating something and then realizing it wasn't on the protocol. Talk about PARANOID! I even had a second thought on Sunday when I took a small piece of bread for our sacrament! But you know, I draw the line when it comes to renewing baptisimal covenants, and let's face it, I need all the support I can get - especially divine intervention!

How was today for everyone else?

Bebol, Why not try a lower dose just to see if that's it? It can't hurt. I'm doing 125ui sub-q. I wanted to start on the lowest and increase if needed but so far so good. Glad you made it through day 1!

Cella, AWESOME girl!!!!! way to go! lack of water will definitely cause your body to hold onto whatever water you do have in your system. I learned that the hard way a few years ago...

Well, I am finishing up my 2nd low cal day and feel really good! The only mini-breakdown (but no cheat) was in target. I had to go to the food section and got the strongest urge to pull the snacks off the shelf! I get those urges normally. Sometimes I can control it but most times I end up buying the stuff, eat a few bites then toss it or give it to the kids. It's definitely psychological. but today it was SO strong. I know I wasn't hungry because I had been fine 2 minutes before walking into that section. But I made it out of the store with no problems.

CellaBella, you do make me laugh. Regarding symptoms, starting last night and more apparent this morning, all these dark tiny freckles appeared on my face, and I'm concerned they're going to stay. I don't want them to morph into larger age spots. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the pigmentation problems that some pregnant women get. But I can't find anything in the forums or on google that would support this. It almost appears as if this was all my future aging coming to the surface overnight. It's very unsettling to not recognize my skin.

sapphire3, I might consider reducing the dosage. Yeah, I'll give it a shot . . . no pun intended.

Thank you ladies for all your comments. I don't have interenet access at work. I'll have to get caught up with you all when I get home. I am up almost 3 pounds after loading. Today was my first day of VLCD. I wish I could find some of the recipes I saw last year--any ideas? I really don't know how to do this forum thing very well. I was hungry/bored at work today. I am working as a personal assistant doing a lot of cleaning chores for a family. I was completely on my own today and what do you think I was thinking about? Yeah, my breadstick, my apple. Oh joy. But I like a comment I saw somewhere here tonight--Dieting is hard, Fat is hard, Pick your hard. I am also very inspired about the comment about the treats we take for granted and eat willy nilly these days. As a matter of healthiness, I try not to eat foods that my grandmother wouldn't recognize. I hadn't considered how readily we "treat ourselves" to just about everything. I had at least weaned myself off my cake habit. I told myself "if it's not someone's birthday, it's not okay to just get a piece of cake!" Of course, I wasn't very good at remembering those wise words.
I have trouble sleeping when I'm hungry but here goes. I think adding exercise will help.

GettingItDone, I related to those same slogans and comments. I've even quoted that "Fat is hard..." a couple of times. It's very effective because it's very true. Being fat is hard. Getting there is easy, but being it is different. And I also really appreciated sapphire's comments about the foods we take for granted. Families used to wait for Christmas to dip into the sugar and make a treat.
Well, it's morning of Day 2, and I've lost 6 of the 8lbs. I gained from loading. Hopefully I'll be back at ground zero tomorrow morning. More importantly, I got a great night's sleep. I'm feeling much lighter today. Today I'll take on the universe.

I'm starting VLCD 2 as well. Gained 5.4 loading and lost 4 yesterday. I had to go out while myn husband made dinner for him and my boys yesterday but I am worried when I need to make them dinner. I also "graze" while I cook, tasting the sauce, etc. I am thinking I should eat first so that I would not be a hungry... any thoughts? My boys suggested that they just make pizza every night (that's about all they can make entirely themselves) and I am sure there will be nights I will have to let them do that.

Just to make sure I am right, we can only have 1 of the vegetables with each meat? We can't have tomatoes and lettuce together? Just not sure... I looked for P2 recipes last night and most seemed to combine vegetables in a meal but I thought that was a no no... any help would be appreciated.

I can't imagine how much more difficult this is for you who have families. There's food all around you, and the temptation is there to just taste something. I'm very lucky in that regard that I only live with a cat and I don't envy him his dry food.

I'm no help with recipes, Colleen. I don't combine anything or use recipes. I do recall that Pounds and Inches said to use no more than 4 items in one meal, though.

Wow good losses to everyone! Sounds like your all having good successes so far! today is day 2 for me as well, No hunger and no cravings this round! I think loading on mainly fats instead of junk food and fast food def helped! i ate about 5000 calories ea. day and about 80% fat. I gained 3.2 loading and today after day 1 was down 3.5 ! so i also lost my load weight plus .3! But the couple days before i started loading i cheated early couldnt help it cuz i knew i was starting and gained 4.4 lbs, but i ate junk like higher carbs so i think thats why i went up so much before loading, But .3 of that is gone. Just gotta lose 4.1 more to be around my last stabalizing weight of 129-130.
