Hi Sheila, I'm new to this also, and will be loading today and tomorrow( feb 18 & 19). I'm doing the long round, hoping to lose 30 pounds. Start weight 273, my goal is 175, so obviously, assuming this works, I'll need multiple rounds. Did my 1st injection this morning, and stopped for a breakfast combo at Hardees on my way to work (to go with the donuts I brought with me! LOL).
Would love to be buddies in this journey. What weight are you starting at?
Hi Inkprincess! Let us know what you decide. After reading Pounds & Inches several times and doing a lot of research, I felt comfortable doing it myself, but I'd injected insulin before, so had no worries about that part.

February 19th, 2012, 09:56 AM #4 Hello Ladies
@Kajola I started at 290, gained 2.2 loading..Would love to be buddies, I need all the help and encouragement I can get!!
@Iceprincess I am seeing a Doctor, I was going to do the clinic method, but did not feel comfortable. I found a Doctor who accepts my insurance so all I had to pay out of pocket is for my injections.. which are filled locally at a compounding pharmacy. If you want more information just let me know!

Sheila, what dose are you starting at? I'm trying 150 iu. I'm also planning to skip one injection a week, as I heard that helps avoid immunity, and will add an a extra week to how long I can stay on it.
What are you eating today for your first 500 cal day?

February 19th, 2012, 03:00 PM #6 I'm on 125 iu and my Dr. does not have me skipping injections. My meals thus far today
Breakfast: apple and coffee
Lunch: Chicken and green salad
Dinner will be : fish and asparagus
I will save my fruit from dinner for a snack later on this evening.
I forgot to pick up the melba toast at the store so I wont have that today...I hope the missing toast doesn't cause me to not drop any pounds.
What's on your menu today?

This was my second loading day. I ate 4 toasted english muffins with butter and nutella, 8 slices of bacon, half a box of fruitloops, 3 chocolate bars, 3 big pieces of meat lovers pizzahut pizza and 2 cheese breadsticks. 2 big glasses of whole milk. Uh, I'm stuffed. Looking forward to 500cals tomorrow. I think the 2 load days sets up food aversion that must be one of the strategies that make this work LOL!
In a surprise move, my husband has decided to try this with me. He is loading today and tomorrow, so will be one day behind me. I guess I could do a third loading day so we'd be on the same schedule, but I'm (a) sick of food, and (b) can't wait to get started on the weight LOSS portion!
I'm glad he wants to try it, but I wanted to get gorgeous before him! But I can see where this could be a lot easier with both of us doing it... as far as eating the same thing, not having someone eat tempting things in front of you (or needing to have them in the house) not going out to eat, etc.
There's nothing magic about the melba toast, so don't worry. I belong to a low carb diet forum, and there's some members there doing hcG (that's where I learned about it) and they never eat the bread stick or melba. I won't be, either.
Looking forward to hearing how your first weigh in goes. Did you have any issues with hunger today?

February 19th, 2012, 07:20 PM #8 Loading was rough...I was actually sick of eating! Glad to hear i'm not missing much by not eating the Melba toast
I'm not sure if I was actually hungry or just used to eating when I was bored, watching TV etc....... I am really anxious about tomorrows weigh-in, I hope I have a good loss! I have been drinking water all day and even though I was tempted to graze I did not! So if nothing else I'm proud of myself for that!

February 20th, 2012, 01:29 PM #9 Hi, I am new to the site. I too live in Ohio!! I am on VLCD 15. Today had a spell of low blood sugar . I am not diabetic but my mom is so I tested it at her house and it was in the 60's. My chest hurt and I felt so out of it kinda scarey. Anyone else having any issues like this? I started at 281 and I have so far lost 17.8 lbs. Me and my husband are both going to a clinic. We will both be doing 7 weeks. Hoping to find some support here to get through this.

Hi Dreaming, welcome... If you look on page 29 of Dr Simeons original P&I manuscript under the heading "Blood Sugars", he talks about something like this.
