I went to Sunflower Farmer's Market tonight and stocked up for phase 2! They had so many great things I was thinking I'd have to order online! And their prices are usually better than Whole Foods. Anyways, I weighed and portioned out my beef and chicken for the week and cooked my chicken for tomorrow's lunch (chicken cabbage wraps). I picked up some HCG safe balsamic vinaigrette and used that for marinade with some garlic. It smelled so good, I can't wait for lunch tomorrow! I also can't wait to start seeing results. Keep up the great work all!

I have heard about set point, in which as I've read, the body holds to a weight that was familiar. I'm right at 353.4 this morning, and 350ish was the weight i hovered at for probably a year or more.

    Hopefully I'm not hitting a plateau! :-(

I know how you feel as I'm going through the same as you are so you are not alone and maybe Jen is right, our bodys are catching up.

My naturopath told me not to worry too much as each of our bodies react differently and we think it's a hissy fit. She also told me to get through the first 3 weeks completely then work an average out and that will help as guide only as to what our bodies will do weight loss wise on a continued for now average.

BUMMER! But we must keep on trucking and when you look at the "overall" weight loss against the number of days it is still GREAT weight loss. Right!!!

Don't get disheartened MYL, kick ass ! Chin up, keep smiling

Lightbulb HCG diet plan - what you can eat

I'm sorry if you guys don't like me saying "stick to the plan" that's what it is there for. I don't think it is the right advice to be giving brand new HCGers the "green light" to mix veges and add sauce and stuff.

Stick to the plan, it's easy and simple to stick to. There are no sauces other than lemon juice.

    Breakfast:

Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

    Lunch:

    1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird.

    2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

    3. One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

    4. An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

    Dinner :

The same four choices as lunch (above.)

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes.

Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water (2 liters of water per day is recommended) are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.

The fruit or the breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than the four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.

No medicines or cosmetics other than lipstick, eyebrow pencil and powder may he used without special permission.

However, in February; I found HCG through my Chiropractor's Office and gave it a try. I'll skip over the round by round details. But, I lost about 120lbs last year. I put some of it back on through the holiday's but am back on P2 again.

Anyway; if you stick to the protocol; it will work for you. The thing that I kept telling myself last year was that I can do anything for 40 days. That helped me a lot. I will tell you that once you get into later rounds there are some mental challenges that can come up. However, This program works. I lost a hundred pounds between February and September of last year and took a long break at the end of the year. (I did drop another 20 lbs on a short round right before Thanksgiving which brought my total up to about 120ish lost.) There is a lot of help on this forum and I have found that I have made friends with several people on it. If you have questions, find someone who has been on here for a while and ask them; there is lots of help here.

Here is something I wrote last April; When I posted it several people said it was a blessing to them. Perhaps it will be to you as well:

...One of the greatest aspects of this diet is "HOPE". Just over a month ago I was looking at buying larger clothes because the seams of what I had been wearing were beginning to scream. There was just no hope that I would ever go the other direction. I have been so sedentary and was just creeping up and up in my bulk. Just no hope for a better day as far as my health is concerned. Just no hope that I would be able to enjoy some of the simple things in life again. Or, no thought of not being relegated to sitting on a bench while the rest of my family was able to enjoy various activities. Just no hope of returning to a normal life. Or, deceiving myself by saying "Oh, you guy's enjoy the amusement park (or the mall, boardwalk, etc), I just want to hang out here and watch people!" Or some other such nonsense. It is almost like the reality was so bad that it was easier to create a new "normal" way of life rather than doing something about the reality of my life. Just no hope for it to get better and being resigned to an ever declining quality of life. No Hope. At least in a physical sense.

I have been very active mentally because I could not be active physically. Since 2006, I have earned 3 post graduate degrees and am half way through with my Doctorate. I could do this, because I was not doing anything else. My excuse would be that I was not mentally lazy, just physically lazy. I now have "Hope", that in the not to distant future I will be able to amble about freely as I used to. For various reasons, I resigned the Church I pastored a year and a half ago. I have been patiently waiting for my next position; keeping busy at my home church. In my profession, I have a lot of credentials. But, who really wants a Pastor that is 500 lbs and needs to sit on his rear end all the time? Hope! I now have hope that in the not too distant future, that will no longer be my reality. I can see a time, where I can return to a normal way of life; which will allow me to more easily return to the work I love doing. Hope!

How did I ever allow this to become my reality? Oh, it first started with a back injury when I was a young man. I was a big strapping man who could do the work of two people with ease. One day, I picked up something that was even too heavy for me and tore a muscle in my back. Ever since then, every time I would work hard I would end up on my back for a couple of days. I was a nice 6'4" man with a 36" waist. The next thing I knew; I was buying bigger pants! Then I needed 2xl shirts! Before long, I ended up needing to buy bigger and bigger clothing and began fooling myself that shopping online was more convenient; never-mind that the stores don't carry clothes for what Dr. S referred to as a "Colossus"! Hope! I now have hope of being able to return to a normal way of life even when it comes to something as simple as buying clothing. Hope.

What about longevity? I have a wonderful loving relationship with my wife. She has never treated me with anything other than loving respect. But, She was sure to be a widow much too early. She made a remark to me last night about my size and loss that revealed that she also has a new hope where I am concerned. My oldest son looked across the table last night and said that my whole frame looks smaller. He said this with a smile on his face. He is proud of me for undertaking this. In a little over a month, hope is dawning in my life and the lives of my loved ones. I have wondered many times "why" I was here in Tennessee; waiting. I think that now I know why. Perhaps this time in my life was meant for this tremendous undertaking that is bringing a renewed hope to me and my family. I still have a long way to go as you can see by my ticker. But, I am certainly much further along than I was a month ago. Because of this new hope, I can see a new day on the horizon in the not too distant future.

Forgive me for rambling a bit this morning. Perhaps many of you cannot identify with what I am talking about. You might not be able to, unless you needed to lose over half your body weight. If that is the case, please forgive me for wasting your time. However, some of you can identify with me. So, for me and you, I say this diet finally offers hope of a normal way of life for us. Hope for a better life. Hope for being able to participate in life rather than watching it as it passes us by. That motivates me; I hope it motivates you too.

God bless each of you and stay strong!
Thank you so much for this post. It was very motivating. And you are right... for many of us this diet is a diet of hope. In some cases, our last hope. We have tried everything else, and it doesn't work. As a life-long dieter, I have tried every diet around... and they used to work. Now, at the ripe old age of 65, nothing seemed to work. It seemed I was doomed to carry around the extra 100 pounds on my 5'2" frame until the end of this life. I'm only 2 weeks into this HCG diet, but it has given me back my hope! I can already see that my age & tired metabolism is working against me, and while I'm not loosing as fast as many others, I AM LOOSING!!! Praise God for leading me to the knowledge of HCG. I HAVE HOPE!!

Question for you, Jpsp... how many rounds did it take to loose the initial 100#? Or did you do it in one or two very long rounds? Your journey is encouraging.
    Again, thanks!

It's a big call but hey this is a big journey, right! I plan on a surgery venture after all the weight loss to nip and tuck me here and there and who's gonna complain with a new set of boobs and a flat tummy, ha!
You crack me up! I've been thinking about what this body is going to look like in 100 pounds... much like a deflated balloon, I expect. But at the ripe old age of 65, I don't believe I'll be going under the knife! My hubby of 47 years has loved me through "thick" (AND I DO MEAN THICK!!) and thin. He'll love me droopy & bedraggled too!

I'm hoping this solves it cause I'm getting very discouraged and tired of being hungry. I'm afraid I won't make it another 21 day with this hunger!
But with results like that.... you can do it, hungry or not!!

Staying positive is the key along with patience and self love LOL ! Have a great day everyone. Keep those magic numbers dropping!
Perhaps it is time for you to boycott the scale for a couple of days. Stay on protocol and stay positive knowing that your body & HCG are doing their thing. I think sometimes that mean ol' rascal the scale sits there waiting to undermine our determination. That scale has never been our friend, you know!

And are you not measuring? If not, DO!! Even when the scale is being foul, the tape measure is our friend! You should be measuring once a week. (neck, bust, waist, hips, thighs, calves, upper arm and lower arm) You will be amazed!

You are always giving others a pep-talk... so there you go!
