I am on prescription (Corian from ADC). I am taking between .4 and .5 ml twice a day.

You mixed the normal way, 15 cc of fluid with 5000 iu of hcg? How long are you holding it under your tongue?

I did, I work in healthcare, so am familiar with mixing meds so am sure that I mixed it properly. I hold under my tongue about 10-15 minutes.

It is just kind of scary because I am an NP, so the first thing that I would tell a patient if they mentioned similar side effects would be "stop taking that crazy medication, obviously it is affecting you", but it is a bit different when it is yourself that you are dealing with. Plus I was committed to seeing this through and don't want to throw it all away now. I actually had been feeling great up until this week.

Hi there everyone. I am new to this forum and to the HCG diet myself. Currently in my 2nd week of Phase 2. I share similar concerns as far as not losing as quickly as others. I was losing quite nicely until about day 8, I lost nothing. Then Day 9 I lost .02, Day 10 I lost .04 and today again I lost .04. I was just wondering if this is normal if I am following the protocol to a "T". I still have about 30 pounds to lose. Perhaps I am just expecting too much? I can give you an idea of what my day consists of and maybe somebody out there will be kind enough to offer their advice and/or experience. Thank you so much in advance!

Breakfast: 10 drops under tongue - 1/2 grapefruit, 1 piece of Ezekiel bread (which was recommended but I don't see it on all lists)
Lunch: 10 drops under tongue - 3.5 oz chicken breast with squeezed lemon, 3.5 oz of cucumbers
    Snack: 1 Small Apple
Dinner: 10 drops under tongue - 3.5 oz veal or fish, 3.5 oz asparagus

-I do drink exactly 4 L of bottled water throughout the entire day starting at breakfast and continuing on until about an hour before bed time.
-I don't use any cosmetics or lotions but I do have a concern about my dishwashing liquid. Could that be effecting me?
-I don't have any hunger issues but I do have sleep issues. I haven't been able to sleep a full night since starting the diet.

I also have a hard time adding the calories up to 500, could it be an issue of not eating enough? I barely make 400 calories to my calculations (without the Ezekiel bread) I would rather eat closer to the amount allowed to make sure my body gets what it needs.

Anyhow, that's enough rambling for now haha. More later I'm sure!! Look forward to hearing what you all have to say.

P.S. My Husband is doing it as well and we do the exact same routine every day.... he has lost double what I have. Proud and happy for him but very hard not to get discouraged when I see his numbers so high and mine so low.

    Hi Moya,

I am wondering if you are mixing your vegetables? I have read that you are supposed to have only one type of vegetable for lunch, and a different type for dinner. Never mix vegetables, fruits or proteins or have the same veggie, fruit or protein twice in one day. Not sure if this applies to you, but if it does, it's worth a shot to see if it helps with your weight loss. Good Luck to you!

I too am losing at a slower rate then most and getting a little discouraged. However, I am still losing and I guess that's a positive thing. Gotta try to keep positive.

That's a little long to hold it. You might be absorbing more than you should. Try only holding it 5-10 minutes. It sounds like a dose issue for sure.

Anita, Ezekiel bread is NOT ALLOWED! Holy cow, who told you that it was? That's way too much starch.

Ok, I will try not holding it so long. Just to get over these spins, should I skip a dose, do you think? It is especially bad today. I just mixed a new batch last night and am starting to think that maybe my other mix was losing potency after 2 weeks and I got a big old dose of hcg this morning because it was fresh and my body is protesting it.

Anita, I don't often mix veggies (i have occasionally, but only maybe two times in the 12 days, and oddly those weren't low loss days), but often will have the same protein or veggie in a day (my norm is chicken on greens). I didn't realize that this wasn't allowed.

    Grammy:

The site is called The Tree For Life. They actually encourage you to eat the Ezekiel bread but I was concerned because no other site or forums have mentioned this being allowed on the diet. I decided to give it a try, the first day I did, I had a weight loss of 1.6 which was GREAT for my record of losses lol. However, from that point on, it has been no more than a .04 weight loss daily, sometimes less. My Husband has been faithfully losing 1-2 lbs per day which is extremely great and he is eating the bread. So I am truly confused.

Thanks so much for your advice, I'm gonna give that a try today. Gonna cut out the bread and see what happens tomorrow.

Do you think that it's better to do fluids only for breakfast, no fruit? Will that give me a greater loss? I am trying that today as well and I am increasing my amount of veggies trying to get closer to 500 calories. Hoping for the best.

Moya: I know we read and hear so many different things with this diet on different sites and it gets so confusing, but I can tell you, from what I have read, all sites say not to have the same veggie, fruit or protein twice in one day or mix two veggies, fruits or protein in on meal. However, with regarding having more than one veggie in one meal (mixing) I have seen a few people writing that they do it and they are fine. So I'm not sure what to think. I just play it safe.

Maybe for yourself, try for a day to make sure you have 1 veggie, 1 fruit and 1 protein for lunch, then have a diff veggie, fruit, protein for dinner and see if that helps you in any way. I hope so!

    Thanks Again,
    Anita

always, always refer to the REAL protocol--Pounds and Inches. Men can cheat and still lose. Ezekiel bread is about as bad a cheat as you can have. I even recommend not eating the allowed melba because many of those with a chronic weight problem can trace the culprit to a gluten intolerance. Most lose much better with no gluten in their diet at all.

I did decide to skip the nightly hcg dose, so hopefully that wasn't a mistake.
