    Unhappy Oh, no!

Hi, all. I'm new, although I found this site a couple of months ago while researching the diet. I loaded last weekend (Superbowl weekend) and started VLCD on Monday...and promptly went off protocol. I decided to treat Monday as another loading day...Tuesday I got up with a new determination to make this happen. Haven't slipped yet; or so I thought.

My goto meal has been 3 cups of romaine lettuce with chicken and a spicy Asian vinagrette dressing. The chicken is poached in broth seasoned with garlic, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper, and finished in the oven. The DRESSING has canola oil and sesame oil in it...and I didn't know. I feel like I have done irreparable damage to my diet...any help? Maybe an acceptable dressing? I'm SO disappointed.

Oh, and I honestly don't know if I have lost weight, as at 425lbs, finding a scale I can weigh myself on is just about impossible...

No dressing, honey. Use squeezed lemon on your salad or apple cider vinegar. This early in the protocol it probably won't slow you down though. You'll likely still lose tomorrow. Read Pounds and Inches so you totally understand the protocol.

Also the broth is probably not good unless you made it yourself. Most of the store bought ones have starch or sugar. Good luck!

I would bet since it is so early in your round that you are probably fine. Just find an alternate dressing with no oils and keep going.

Try Walden Farms Dressings, they are amazing as far as "diet " dressings go, they are completely safe for protocol and they have several different flavors.
I say safe even though at the end it does list sucralose on this bottle and in the honey mustard I have. My way of figuring it is its so far down in the list there may not be alot of it, and since I eat this in moderation if my weight loss stops or slows this would be first thing to cut out. It has to be the safest pre made dressing out there and I have 4 kids and dont have time to make my own dressing, and personally didnt care for the lemon Sorry, not my cup of tea.
I like to cook chicken in my sesame ginger dressing, It is Sugar free Calorie Free, Fat free etc...
the ingredients on the sesame ginger bottle are
Ingredients: Triple Filtered purified water, apple cider vinegar, ginger, garlic, gluten free soy sauce, sesame flavor, caramel color, citric acid, lactic acid, sea salt, onion vegetable fiber, beta carotene, batural spices sesame seeds lemon juice, sucralose, potassium sorbate, vitamins b8,b5,b3,b6,b12 vitamin e

So its the lesser of the evils, I only use that one for the chicken, and then sometimes I pour a little on my cabbage when its cooking.

taylorfam - the soy and sucralose in Walden Farms is not really a wise choice during P2. It can cause stalls and gains for some people.

Try looking on Ebay for scales. There are several on there for a reasonable price that weigh up to 450, I think!

You just need to start reading labels and read the protocl like Grammy says. You will do great, don't stress out this early. It's not a bad diet to stick too!

Yeah I know the soy sauce is a biggie, the other dressings they make dont have it in there, but the sodium content is 260 in 2 tbsp. Not like regular soy, but I understand what your saying. Its not for everyone.

Just keep moving forward!!! You can do this!!! i will suggest a brand of salad dressing for you by a company named Walden Farms! They have an asian sesame dressing, I love the balsamic and chipolte ranch. I hope this helps.

I have been using the Chipotle Ranch from Walden Farms since around 4th day of the VLCD and I don't see that it affects me. I've lost almost 23 pounds since the 15th. It's what makes this diet possible for me
