P4 -- Any one tried Intermittent Fasting?

Today is my last day of P3. I just happen to stumble up someone talking about Intermittent Fasting, using such programs as "Eat Stop Eat" somewhere here on the Forum. I'm very curious about it now because it somewhat makes sense...what little knowledge I now have of it. I still want to lose another 5 to 10 lbs., but that's not enough for me to do another full round of HCG. So this intrigues me now. I know you don't fast more than 24 hours because you then go into starvation mode. So it sure sounds VERY similar to a steak day...where we don't eat all day until the evening. During my P3, I did have to do my very first steak day, and sure enough, I dropped the 2.7 that I had gained.

Can anyone enlightenment or add their "two cents" before I possibly do it. Thanks!

I do this at least twice a week. I started last week. It's not hard at all. I do lose weight every time I fast. It's the other 5 days I have to really watch what I'm doing. The leangains.com guy, Martin Berkham recommends that women only fast for 16-18 hours. He finds that women start to get more tired and irritable than men do trying to do it for more. I can do it for about 20 before I get really wigged out. I usually stick to 16 or 17.

I still eat like P3 with the exception of beans. I am reading The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss which is amazing and I really recommend reading it. I've already burned through The Primal Blueprint. I really recommend reading both of these treasures before you start any exercise or reincorporate carbs. It will most likely save you from gaining any of your weight back. If I had done this, I don't think I would have had these 14 extra pounds on me.

I have done lots of IF during my time in P4. Both for steak days and as part of my paleo lifestyle when I didn't feel hungry for lunch or dinner. I wouldn't go beyond 16-18 hours and I would make sure you get an adequate amount of calories when you do eat (don't starve or gorge yourself). I'd eat a little more than a usual meal, but don't eat more than you would have all day.

That said, my body does not respond well to IF. Some people really do well with IF days, but I just find that steady eating is what treats my body and mind the best.
