Today is day two of loading for me! It's my first round. But loading is a lot harder than I thought it would be. Good luck!
This is round two for me!
I lost 18 lbs my first round back in Aug. '11, gained 16lbs back since then. I went Paleo after my first round (and LOVE it), continued to work out no less than 5x per week, and still gained. As frustrating as that is, I now understand that due to my CHRONIC constipation, I most likely struggle with toxicity which it is not allowing my body to metabolize properly. Thanks to *Groupon* I have purchased a months worth of Hydrotherapy Sessions to get my colon in tip top shape.
Okay, enough of the TMI...
I LOVED being 16lbs thinner. Depression over the gain has been a real set back in my life. I'm determined to stabilize properly this time!
I'm loading this weekend, Feb 18 & 19...First drops on Mon. Feb. 20. I'd love some company and support!!!

lol! I hope you didn't buy into the crap & junk food loading hype! Loading is much more successful with as much healthy fats as possible! Good luck on your journey~
I've gone without carbs, processed food or dairy for SO long that loading for my will be LOTS of avocados, heavy cream, almonds, butter and extra olive oil~ Oh, and Bacon...lots and lots of bacon mmmmmm!!!!
New here and just beginning my research (ordered homeopathic drops from a local dr) and wanted to ask a silly question. So if you lost 18 but gained back 16 despite eating right and exercising...how is it that anyone can keep off the weight once they lose it. I'm certainly not trying to be negative - like I said I'm just starting to learn about this diet and HOPE it can work for me, but I only have 12 pounds to lose and know I can't maintain this low of a caloric intake for very long before binging and gaining it all back. But I'm super depressed w/the extra weight on my 5'2" small frame and will do just about anything to drop these stubborn pounds.
My drops should come in on Thursday or Friday...do you take the drops on the days you load? Where do you find what foods are good to use on the load and if I may ask...where do I find out what all this P1, P2 & R1 & R2 plans are about? I see that it's phases and rounds, but do I need to get a book with all of the lists of foods and the plan for each phase? I am not doing this under a doctors supervision or through a clinic. I was hoping to do it on my own and w/the support of folks here!
Thanks and sorry if I am rambling on your thread!

Welcome Emcee.
Not negative at all. We should question everything! There is a TON of successful people that have done this diet. Stabilizing will depend on you patience and willingness to follow the protocol to a T! I was a bit of a rouger at times and it always set me back!
I feel like I have a unique problem. Since I completed my first round, I made some serious lifestyle changes. That will have to be determined for you before you even start this diet, that once you loose the weight, keeping it off means changing how you view eating and exercising. I thought I missed carbs so much, I kept trying to replicate them with all of the millions of recipes you find on here. Mentally I felt food deprived for the 25 days, (even though if your drops are dosed right, you really don't feel hungry). Going into P3, I was trying all sorts of things instead of taking it slowly. This interfered with my own ability to test certain food sensitivity. As it turns out, I LOVE eating clean. and now know that my body can spend more time metabolizing the food I eat rather than having to constantly be a carb burning machine...that brings me to my unique problem....chronic constipation, leading to toxicity in my system, won't allow my body to metabolize what I eat whether it's healthy or not. Most likely leading to the steady 2lb gain I've experienced almost every month since my last round, and not loosing no matter how much I exercise.
I made a lot of mistakes my first round, like I said before, it was all a major head game with me and food. Now that I am in control of that, this round should be a lot easier. My daily calorie intake is no more than 1100, 1400 on the days I work out. My daily plate consists of meat and veggies, all cooked in coconut oil. That's it. 3 times a day I cook 2 meals, one for myself and one for my family...You can probably see where my need to find the root of my problem came from, I'm doing everything right. I have 4 weeks of hydrotherapy apts with 2 sessions each week. If this doesn't help me stabilize this time, I won't ever try again.
Find the download of the book "pounds and inches" read it and then re-read it. Stick to the protocol in the book, and don't get caught up in all the fads on this forum. It's SO simple, and very effective!
Good luck on your journey.
Round 2 started yesterday for me. Finishing loading today and I feel GROSS. Really GROSS. But, I know I will soon drop off the weight and more, after losing 45 pounds since the start of Round 1 in the beginning of November.
The whole loading thing is rather mystifying - loading on fats only to lose fats. Who would have imagined you could be SICK of fatty foods?
Losses as of 3/23/12 for R1 & R2:
55 pounds, 84.5 inches
LeLu, no I've basically been eating steak, almond butter, pork, avocado, whole fat yogurt. I must admit I did have a bite of valentine chocolate today. Just one little square. Tomorrow is day one on the protocol. Fingers crossed.
Awesome Sem!!!
~Redefining, it's really to sustain you the first couple of days while you transition. That is the reason for the emphasis on healthy fats! I've even been told by moderators here, that stuffing yourself until you're sick isn't quite necessary!? I guess it can be a difference of personal opinion. How well did you stabilize? Your losses are amazing! Great job!!
I know what you mean about being sick of fatty food. I keep thinking I might have a giant Red Robin burger just for fun, but I know I probably won't do it. I really enjoy the Paleo lifestyle. I will however have 2 grande heavy cream lattes this weekend! mmmmm...
Hi everyone! I am also planning on loading this saturday and sunday. This will be my second round, having lost 26 pounds in 42 days on my first round. I did the first round with my husband, and while it was nice to have someone physically sharing the journey with me, I found myself pouring over the forums whenever I had the chance, it gave me so much motivation. This round, I am hoping to lose 10 or so pounds and I would love to find a supportive, active group that I can actually join to go though this with.
Thanks SOO much LeLu - I guess I need to spend more time in the newbie area and I will definitely be reading that book! I wanted to ask you if the chronic constipation is because of your new Paleo eating or something else? I am (maybe TMI) very irregular and wondering if I may end up with the same issues, which is why I ask.
Oh and for the record...I think I may just enjoy the loading! ;-)
