    Unhappy Discouraged--very slow loser

Hi all. I have really appreciated the information and support from these boards. I am feeling a little discouraged though. I am on VLCD 15 and I have lost 7.6 pounds so far (including load weight). I have had small losses and a couple of bigger losses that were followed by a gain. My only cheat is that I occasionally have 2 tbsp of milk in my tea (I do not eat the melba/grissini). I know that my average of 0.5lbs a day is good, and I remind myself that losing 7 lbs in two weeks is far beyond results from any other type of program. But I feel like when I read other people’s stats they are usually blowing me out of the water! I am a pescatarian so my protein is coming from seafood, eggs, and occasional Jay Robb shakes. I know my losses are likely to be slower than those getting protein from beef and chicken, but it still feels frustrating. I am hoping to lose 25lbs in my 40 days, although I hope to eventually lose 30lbs).
Any other slow losers out there feeling the pain?

P.S. I also cannot figue out how to update my ticker!

I feel you! In also a sloooow loser. I'm on day 33 of the VLCD and am "only" 15lbs down. Like you said, way better than we could do on any other diet, but still sucks to see everyone's 1+ posts. I've been bouncing around the same few 10ths of a pound for about a week now. But hey, we're doing it!!! I've even heard it said that a slower loss is easier to stabilize and maintain, so we've got that going for us Keep your chin up and keep plugging along! We can do this!!!

Me too. I'm on VLCD 28 and I'm down 15 lbs. I was hoping to lose 30 lbs in 40 days, but I am not thinking that's gonna happen. Sigh. I really wanted to do this in one round - losing 30 would put me where I want to be. I'm doing the hhcg, so I think I can go past 40 days if I'm close. It's just discouraging to see it come off so slow. Last week I dropped 0.2 several days in a row, then lost nothing for 3 days. Yesterday I was down 1 pound though, so maybe it will pick back up.

I think the hardest part is setting up a timeline in my head, then having to constantly adjust it. Like - I think, "If I lose 0.5 every day, the I'll be down 3 lbs in 6 days." Well, that just doesn't work! I'm down 2 lbs in 7 days! and one of those was just since yesterday!

I see others post that sometimes when you don't have as much to lose (like 30 lbs) it seems to come off more slowly than when you have more to lose. I also think that if you were eating pretty healthy before the diet, it is harder to lose. I LOVE the idea that losing more slowly sometimes means it is easier to keep it off. Sure hope so!

    Good luck!

I had 5 stalls during my 40 days but ended up losing 29 lbs. Two stalls lasted five days. I did 2 apple days and a steak day to jump start the weight loss.

It did get frustrating with the stalls but overall it all worked out. I have been off HCG for 10 days without any weight gain. I have actually lost some inches in the last ten days. I am very focused on eating healthy and not doing anything bad that would put the weight back on. I will be starting R2 on March 15th. Hope to drop 21 pounds during R2.

Keep it up it does work better than anything I have ever done. And I have been on almost every diet there is to try.

I have stalled for almost 4 days now. I am keeping up with doing my kettlebell exercises for 10 min a day. But my stall is a weight gain of 3 lbs. lost 7 lbs in 10 days so now day 14 starting week three tomorrow. I have lost inches and it feels great to get into a one size smaller in jeans and a L in tops no longer xxl or xl depending on the top.
My Sunday school class noticed Sunday that I had gotten smaller, because I finally wore some smaller clothes.
    Started Feb 7th
    R1p2 week 1 lost 7 lbs
R1p2 week 2 lost 2 lbs but the inches are coming off
R1p2 week 2 still no losing but clothes are looser

Hello- I am very new to this forum...but it's been amazingly helpful. I have a question. What does the 40 days consist of exaclty? Is it 2 loading days, 21 days of VLCD...then what?
    Thanks,
    Gina

I'm still sorta new, too, Gina, but I think people mostly do either a 23 day round or a 40/43 day round. I hear people say a "short round" when talking about the 23 days and I think it makes a difference if you do the injections or the drops. For a short round, you do 2 days of loading then 21 days of VLCD. Same loading for a longer round, you just keep doing VLCD longer.

Gina: it is 2 days loading then VLCD with shots/drops/pellets/patches for 40 days, then 3 days of VLCD without drops/patches and then Phase 3.

I'm on day 33 and only (only?) down 10.6 kilos (23.3 pounds). I lose mostly .2 or .3 kilos a day. I have had 2 stalls of 2+ days each.

My friend (male) who is on this diet lost 50lbs in 40 days. Sadly, for us women, that is not common. Women lose slower and less than men.

    SW (Jan 19th, 2012) : 114.8 kilos
End of Round 1: 102.4 kilos
    R2: Post load: 103.5 kilos
    UNDER 100 KILOS!!!!!!!!
