    Hey Girls:

Came back from DC this morning. Didn't weight there, don't like to use other scales. hope tomorrow will have good news, its been 3 days, so, hopefully will have reached the 140's mark. I came from work on Friday around 4;30PM and left driving around 6:30, i cooked all my food for 3 days, not to have any occasion for temptation (proud of myself) and drove until 5 AM, then started driving again at 6:30 am, phew then couldn't go to bed until like 11PM, I was so swollen that got huge eye bags, never had had them before, it was scary. So, I'm glad I didn't weigh myself during those days.
Hurray for Donna and Minnie, great losses.

Yay, welcome back Tensy! Don't freak out if the scale is a little up. Travelling is difficult on our water weight for some reason.

Mary Anne, question for you; I have been alternating sides for injections. Started in my jelly belly, right then left. Then I moved to thighs, outer, right then left etc....(alternating days....I'm sure you understand). Today I was back in my left thigh, kind of the "saddle bag" region is that makes sense. It's outer, little upper to the outside of my quad muscle where it "floats" ha ha. So far, this is definitely the least painful place to inject. It was the first time I did it and again today. Is there some reason I cannot do that spot everyday?? Do I have to alternate?

I still plan on finding something else to mix with but I do hesitate to mix again and waste either my current mix or the new mix (maybe they both sting...). sigh. I have the whole month of September to do this....

Ok, I'm off to shop and prep and stuff.

    Night and bye

Min - Yes, you can call me spanner. My name has always lent itself to nicknames for my friends, so I don't mind!

Driver - I have yet to go swimming, not sure why as I love to swim. I plan to try that this week and see how I feel and how the scale reacts. I lifted weights again yesterday, so I plan to do no activity today and watch the scale again tomorrow. I had a loss this morning, so if I have another loss tomorrow I will assume my body is ok with me lifting weights. I had hoped to lift weights once or twice a week during P2 so as not to lose the muscle mass I had already built.

Great job on the losses! Hmmm, even though I subscribed to the thread, I wasn't getting notifications of new posts, so I feel like I have some catching up to do.

I make us taco salads 3 different ways to keep it interesting...ground beef, steak pieces or chicken. I always add a bit of broth (beef or chicken - depending on which meat I'm cooking) to keep it wet so there is more flavor coating the lettuce. When I'm cutting steak into the 3.5 ounce portions and trimming off the visible fat, I end up with scraps that I throw into a baggie and weigh out to make my steak pieces portions for the salad. I might try them in soup sometime too.

I made "spaghetti" over the weekend and put the sauce over cooked cabbage. It was yummy. I mix my veggies all the time...I'm a bit generous on the portion sizes with them too. So far it doesn't seem to have hurt our losses (DH is in P2 with me as well) and helps keep our meals satisfying.

    Hcg drops (Corion) - 5'2" – 115 - 125lbs goal
    Total from VLCD1 – 13.2 lbs lost
    VLCD16 – 134.6 lbs (-0.6)

Min-the reason to rotate sites is so that it is better absorbed, and also to decrease trauma to those tissues. You could stay in that area but move 1-2 inches in either direction (up, down, right, left) to help with absorption and prevent issues. Diabetics can inject 4-6 times A DAY!-so they get really good at rotating sites.

This link is about insulin but would apply to hcg as well

You all look great in your pictures, don't seem you really need this diet.

Well only two more weeks for P3, but it worries me that I still have cravings for sweet foods. Any suggestions there? I take my acv when I'm home and have them, but when I'm working..phew, its so hard.

    1) Chromium picolinate is a supplement that is supposed to help curb carb cravings.

    2) Are you using artificial sweeteners?
They are known to stimulate sugar cravings.
Try out one of the other sweeteners, like xylitol (my fav)
that do not spike blood sugar levels
    which can lead to cravings

    3) Are you getting enough fiber?
Fiber fills us up and keeps our body busy
so it distracts the body (my take on it anyway).

I ate prunes in P3 and P4 for fiber
but also because I love prunes.
They are like candy for me.
    They are also self-limiting
meaning that if I eat too much of them
then I will be visiting the TMI room
    several times (with urgency).

SALAD and APPLES are great for fiber too.
Have JICIMA hash browns (google it) for breakfast
and they will fill you up with fiber!

    4) Have you tried sugar free candy?
    Like Russell Stover or Whitmans
I like them because they give my mouth that candy feeling
and my taste buds don't know the difference
but they do not make me want to inhale the entire bag/box.
    But watch out!
Due to the sugar alcohol in them
    they too are self-limiting.
I have often wondered if they make them with
    chocolate ex-lax.

    Hope this helps.

ok, to try to recreate what I lost..

Donna, great info for Tensy. You are such a blessing to this thread!!

Tensy, what are you craving? Something specific, something general? Why are you craving it? Did you refuse it and can't stop thinking about it....Will it comfort you if you eat it? Let's talk our way through this. Are you eating any yummy fruit you want? Don't be afraid of fruit.

Ok, today I injected and it did not sting! What is up with that??? I did the alternate leg (left stings less than right for some reason and today was right). I have been sitting on the bed, against the headboard legs stretched out in front of me. Today I sat in a chair at my desk because Mickey wasn't home and I need a distraction so I put something on the computer (normally I put on my ipod). Could this little position change make a difference?? I am finding that if I inject more to the top of my thigh it is better as well. I am fairly sure I am still in subq not muscle. One, because the needle is only 1/2 inch and two because the tissue kind of "floats". I really am not lean enough in the upper thighs to be hitting muscle with 1/2 inch....I hope ha ha.

Yesterday I do think I was less hungry after 200 iu but I think today will tell better. I think I feel hungry after I eat an apple. I have noticed this for the other rounds as well but for some reason it's standing out this time. I guess, because I am focusing on reducing hunger by doing injections so maybe when I get hungry I'm really examining why.

Well today is a busy day for me. But that's ok, no complaints

    Cheers All

Min I am glad things did not sting as much today! The 200 dose is what I was on the entire time I did sub q and was not hungry.
I am off to bed, just coming back from a mid-state meeting with a new person on my team. Need some rest before a busy day at the hospital tomorrow.
