    Sashimi

I cross posted with the cheating board, but I figured I'd get more responses here...

I know sashimi is a cheat. Have you ever eaten it during p2? I read a thread where many had tried tuna and it didn't hurt their losses. Any other fish? If I have to just eat tuna, I'm ok with that. I'm bringing braggs with me so I don't have to eat soy sauce and anyone know if wasabi is ok?

I've been avoiding leaving the house since I started the diet, but I HAVE to get out with a friend who is about to have a baby. We won't be able to have many dates by ourselves after her baby is born. And i thought bringing my own food would be tacky, lol.

I've had it ---- just had it tonight in fact. It is not protocol and much of the fish is fatty (salmon, tuna) which is a no-no. Depending on what you have you may not stall out. Now -- the Soy Sauce, side of rice, and potentially miso is also a problem.

If you want to try it, it's your ticker. Just know you may stall.

If you refrain from toro or otoro (fatty/very fatty tuna belly), sake (salmon), and saba (mackerel), you should be in the clear. Maguro (yellowtail tuna) is low in fat, as is kani (crab), ebi (prawn), ika (squid), and tako (octopus).

Long list of sashimi and associate calories. Just stick to the non-oily fishes and you should be able to survive.

I think Dr. Simeon's proscription against tuna referred to the fatty cuts and/or the tuna canned in oil. I had maguro for lunch other day and logged over pound lost. I didn't have any sides besides soy sauce. No harm, no foul.

I ended up getting a tuna hand roll... AND salmon . No rice. It was just the fish wrapped with seaweed. I didn't have the soy sauce, just wasabi. It was so yummy and since I had two, I didn't expect a loss but I still lost .2. That's way lower than my typical .8-1.2 daily losses, but I figured I had a great time, still lost weight and I've STILL lost 23.2 pounds in 20 days! So, I'm a happy camper

Thanks for all this info! Seriously, I was at the restaurant calling my husband to find out which fish had the least fat.... He couldn't figure it out bc my kids were giving him a hard time so I just said to hell with it. Thank you! The sushi was such a nice break from what I've been eating.
