Confession time. I KNEW and I BELIEVED that my stall would correct itself. And STILL I felt compelled to do something about it, even it was ONLY 2 days. I guess I felt like I am only doing a short round, so I don't have much time to invest in a stall - and 8 day stall would put me with just a little less than a week to go for losing more.

So - I had a steak day. 9 oz sirloin from Applebee's, and I tried to estimate 2 ounces to cut off and leave on the plate (they no longer had the 7 oz on the menu at the one I was at). Calories 250, fat g 12, protein 35 g. It was so freaking delicious that I almost cried. Came home and had a baked apple.

Dropped 1.2 at first weigh, another .8 an hour later. Midafternoon I was lower still. So - with the luck I have lately - I will gain 5 pounds while I am asleep!

    Hi,
    I'm new.......and frustrated
Im on R1 P2 day14. Ive lost only 8lbs. I planned for my HCG (using HCG1234), but what I didnt plan for was getting ill. I was on antibiotics and I started cheating from the beginning. When I took the meds, I felt light-headed, so I had a slice of bread with vegetables for breakfast. I tried to stick with the protocol the best I could, but there were days I had to eat what was available....crazy work schedule......and there was nothing in this fast food restaurant with a vegetables I ended up eating the fried chicken.........and fries.....and ketchup Fixing food for the kids are not easy. Though I feel hunger pangs, I crave for taste.........I actually enjoy a cucumber soup with fish (something I wouldnt have eaten before). I can't help myself with frostings and i did pop some sweet stuff in........just to taste. I am enjoying the water and teas and coffee...softdrinks was never my favorite though, but I do miss the juices. I have had a 3 day stall and did an apple day and the next day I was down 3lbs. 2 days after, I was unable to eat protocol and now, I think I've stalled again. trying an apple day again today.....kinda like the light feeling of the body eating only the apples. I'm wondering if I should stop and start all over again. What do you guys think? I've actually gotten to like how my body feels on this diet..except for the hunger pangs around meal time (its worst than normal). I do want to continue. I'm just confused. Please help!!!!!!!!

A stall after the first few days of great losses is almost a given. A long stall in the middle of the round is more common than not.

But rejoice! Stalls aren't a bad thing. I know they feel bad because you've been so good and have followed the diet to a T. But what happens is that you are gaining back some of the water you lost early on. So the fat THAT IS STILL BEING LOST is not showing up on the scales. I really believe those stalls help solidify the losses for when you get to P3 too. I see way more people upset about gaining in P3 when they rushed there as soon as they could because of that typical stall. They assume their body is done, but that's not the case.

So don't be fooled. Hold the course and don't let the stall upset you. It will break when it's ready to break. There is little you can do about it. You may read stories about having a handful of nuts or doing a mini steak day. But these things really don't work. It's just coincidence because the stall was about to break anyway. It would have broken no matter what you did. We get so desperate for it to break that we will try anything. Take your measurements. This will encourage you when you are in the middle of a stall. I have had 10 day stalls in the middle of every long round so I know how upsetting it can be. But put your sights on the end goal and know that you are getting there!
This is an old post, but still so relevant!!! I was like wait a minute now!!!! I need not be at the same weight for three days, and gained .5 back, the first day of the stall. And I'm depriving myself greatly! But I now understand and will stay in the course!! I'm not going to throw in the towel!!!

I hope someone can answer this question for me...I'm in R1P2D29 and was doing fantastic up thru day 24 was down 24 pounds. I started having leg cramps at night so started taking calcium/magnesium/zinc about that time. Since then I've
been dropping .2,.3..etc for a total of 3 pounds this whole week...I'm grateful
that it's going down but was hoping to stay at the .5-1 lb per day and was
wondering if the supplement is the cause? Is there a specific type thats better
for this diet? Should I just stop the cal/mag and use something else? Any advice would be soooo appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

    Hello,

Off topic a little, but I believe you posted in a thread I'm looking for. The one with the chocolate "crack" recipes. She posted a mint flavored one that I made this weekend. I had been on a stall for about a week so I thought I'd try it, I'm on the last three days of my VLCD so I thought I'd try a hail mary. I proceeded with caution like you said (I believe it was you) and I dropped 3 lbs. I'm very happy about it and want to share her recipe on a low carb site I frequent so I was looking for the author's permission.

    Thanks for any help

No. I had a mini-stall after about a week too. Your body is trying to catch up. You'll be right!!!!

I'm on day 16 of my second phase, and about 14 pounds from my goal weight of 135. I've been stalled since about day 5.
I plan to stick it out for a full 42 day round which will end on March 26th since I'm doing injections. I am not about to quit, and I've learned that apple day weight comes back 2 or 3 days later. Just wondering; will I catch up to my goal? Is it actually possible to lose less weight on HCG than a regular low calorie diet? Is there nothing I can do to break through this? According to myfitnesspal I will be at my goal in 5 weeks (I have 4 left) following the protocol 500 calorie diet. Why don't I see the scale agreeing?

I was told to expect to lose 30 pounds in a 40 day round, but I only have 13 days to go and I have only lost 14. My weight goes up and down every couple of days. I have adhered very closely to the protocol. Also, I have noticed that in the morning when I weigh, if I don't have anything either to drink or eat for several hours afterward, I have dropped a pound! Then I eat lunch and it pops right back on (the pound I mean). Is this water weight? Would I do better not to drink so much water? It seems to make me gain!

You shouldn't be weighing more than once a day, in the morning after you use the bathroom and before you eat or drink anything. Thru out the day of course you are going to gain weight by eating and drinking. But that weight is just temporary because of what you are holding in your digestive tract and kidneys. Water intake is a very important part of this diet and you need to drink at the least two liters of water a day. If you do not drink enough water, your body will start retaining all of the water you do drink and it will show as a gain on the scale. You need to stay properly hydrated so your body will just pass the water thru your system instead of holding it. Water is supposed to help flush your system of the fat that is being released by the hcg and you jeopardize that whole process by not drinking enough water. Keep drinking the water and stay off the scale and you will see results in your morning weigh-ins daily. Good luck!
