Thread: Alcohol on Phase 3.

  1. #1

    Alcohol on Phase 3.

I'm not usually a huge drinker, however I'm going out of down during the time I will be on Phase 3, and I'm wondering if it'd be horrible to drink.

It would most likely be beer, some shots...maybe.

I am looking forward to the answers you get, but for me, I plan to have a drink next week in P3, I plan to keep it to hard liquor, like rum or vodka in a diet soda -liquor has 0 carbs, which is why I choose to drink this.
Beer is very high in carbs, so I would suspect would be a big no no on p3.... Even a glass of Red wine, I have heard is acceptable in P3...

I've done white wine varieties without any problems, but not until I was stable in P3.

I was two weeks into P3 when I had wine. 2-3 glasses at a party.I even had a very small sugar and cream desert... No problems. But I really tried to watch my salt that night. However, I had one HELL of a headache the next day 20 less lbs to soak that stuff up.

I have a few glasses during the week with dinner in P4..no problems. i stick to red because I tend to drink less of it. But Pinot Grigio and Pinot Noir's sugars are so similar it dispells the myth that red has less sugar. I would avoid Chardonnay and it's Sulfites though.

Also, I would avoid the hard stuff if I were you, it gives you the munchies. But if you have solid control, Splenda Diet Coke and Bacardi Light (the clear rum) has no carbs, no sugars and only about 80 calories. But two will make you feel like hell this early on.

No beer? That's going to be difficult! lol

I could do Vodka...or maybe Bacardi?

What mixers do you suggest? Fruit juice is really high in sugar, right?

I'm wondering about alcohol on P3 as well. I start P3 Thursday and am going out for Girl's Night on Saturday night. It would be really nice to be able to have a drink or two...

Beer is carb loaded. vodka on the rocks with a few olives is fine. Again, be careful a little goes a long way now. I just remembered I had two small martini's to celebrate no cheats during P2. Didn't affect me...but I think I might be one of the rare ones where nothing affects me unless I go hog wild, which isn't my nature.

I would stick to diet sodas as mixers.

I am also a beer girl!! If you are going to do beer, Michelob Ultra only has 2.6 carbs! Thats not bad at all! I have had tons of parties/weddings/occasions while on P3... and luckily nothing has affected my weight.. Early on I was nervous, so I stuck to red wine (pinot noir) and vodka/soda w lime... but since then I have done other beers.. (and not low-carb ones... newcastle and sam adams) and didn't have a problem. Just eat clean on the days that you know you are going to drink, have lots of water throughout the day... and drink water in between drinks at the bar... (or party or whatever)

I would stay away from juice... mix with soda water or diet soda if you are going to do hard alcohol..
