I dont care for coconut either and I have made a few items with the coconut oil and it does not have a coconut taste. It adds a nice sweet taste to the food and is very tasty. Not to mention good for you.

Virgin coconut oil tastes a bit like coconut.
I don't like coconut either and was resistant to trying coconut oil.

Then I found Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil. It does not taste at all like coconut.

Luanne's CO is likely only good for cooking and not much else. Unrefined virgin coconut oil has so many benefits.... but if you don't like the taste of coconut, avoid it. (which is too bad)

I confess I've cooked with the unrefined virgin CO, but it was too sweet for me.

Oh, I don't use it for anything else but cooking.
Not sure what else you would do with it.

Some coconut oils have a slight, sweet smell, and some don't. I think it has to do with whether it is refined or not. Just gonna say this, I too have hated coconut since childhood, but boy does real coconut taste different than the commercially processed crap! But, back to coconut oil, its super super good for us. Coconut water is really good for us too-- its like a better for your "Gatorade." Natural electrolytes-- but, not sure how it would fare on HCG diet. Can't remember the sugar content. I was making the most delish smoothies prior to this diet, comprised of coconut water, cucumbers, avocado, and mangos. Mmmmm... Ok, off topic, sorry. On the bright side, the coconut oils that do smell like coconut are awesome to use on your skin (i.e. as a natural lotion/moisturizer).

Unrefined tastes like coconut, refined has no flavor at all. I used the unrefined for my cocoa crack and for frying shrimp and chicken fingers that have been lightly breaded in almond flour and it's wonderful! Refined for almost everything else. I really like the light taste of both!
