    Cool Sugar free bacon

Yes, I said it! I have found COMPLETELY sugar free bacon! Its Kirkland Signature Low Sodium bacon from Costco. I have been mindlessly searching the internet for days trying to find bacon that was really sugar free, and not "processed with less than two percent cane juice blah blah" I had read a few things about the Kirkland bacon being sugar free but NO ONE would post the ACTUAL ingredients, and we all know we can't rely on someone simply saying it is sugar free! I myself have to read every ingredient to make SURE that there is no added random annoying name for SUGAR. just so no one has to go from store to store checking out the fact, here they are:

    Kirkland Signature Low Sodium Bacon
Ingredients: Pork cured with water, salt, sodium phosphate, sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrate. Smoked with natural hard woods.

Yes my friends that is word for word what the ingredients are! I start P3 tomorrow and went to stock up on yummy items today and was STOKED to find this. I hope it helps!!

to be honest, i'd be more concerned about the nitrates than i would the sugar. since the sugar in most types of bacon is "0" on the label, that means it has to be less than 1/2 gm per serving.

I am in S Calif. Any of you know of an acceptable bacon here? We were members of Costco since they started near here as Price Club but dropped our membership because of the credit card shenanigans. We always pay cc in full before due date & online banking, at that, & they would hold it & post it 2 weeks late with a late fee. Honey Hubs would wrangle with them every single time & get reimbursed but it was sooooo aggravating & unetical. I have checked pkgs at Sam's but all hve some degree of sugar...is there a skate-by amt that will not immediately jump onto my butt? I'm an old country girl and I love love love some bacon!!! Tyia. Blessings. shelia

sh- as i said above, as long as it has "0" on the chart, i'm ok with it- it has less than 1/2 gm per serving.

Has anyone checked their local butcher? I'd think they would have plain no sugar no nothing bacon.

What is a butcher and where do you find one. I'm just playing around. But honestly I haver never seen one in southern California. The wife told me last night if we are going to be eating this much meat we should buy half a cow. Sounds like that's the smartest thing to do. U know what your getting and control it.
As far as bacon goes. If bought AppleGate no sugar or nitrates at henrys also know as sprouts. But now I havethe Costco low sodium bacon.

Not to thread jack but anyone in so cal know where to buy half a cow..... Pm me thanks

Albertsons supermarket has it's own brand of low sodium bacon that does not contain sugar. I know there are many Albertsons in So Cal.
