can you lose weight on P4 before going into another round?

I would appreciate any advice- especially from anyone who has done multiple rounds. I am 1 day away from finishing P3 in my first round and have 2 more rounds to do. I lost well and have maintained nicely at LPW. I was hoping to do a few high protein days over the next 3 weeks on P4 without adding any starches or sugars to lose anywhere from 2-5 more pounds. Is there any reason not to do this?
    thanks for any advice!

    Round 1 (53 days): - 32 pounds and 20 inches
    Round 2 (51 days): - 25 pounds and 12 1/2 more inches

YOu probably won't. If we could lose another way, we would have already done it. Many have tried to lose in P4 but it's rare that they are successful. It's fine to keep eating P3 foods. I do that all the time anyway because I believe grains are bad for us in general. But I don't lose.

Well, I am no expert, but I have lost 16 lbs from LDW..and my P2 was 60 days and ended the first weekend in October (or the second--I can't remember offhand). *But* I wasn't trying...have just been eating p3(mostly). Actually, I know it's a "good problem" to have, but it does scare me a bit--only because I start worrying that if I can lose w/out understanding why, the opposite may happen... But anyways, just thought I would weigh in.

I did, I lost 10 pounds in P4 but did it after being stable for over 70 days. I just did one round and wasn't every thinking of doing another one, I'm 5'6" so 130 was just right. Here's my link to how I did it. How I lost 10 pounds in P4 with all the details hope this help.

After being in P4 for 10mo. I decided that I'd like to lose the last 10 pounds for life, so I'm back.

thanks for the information. I wasn't sure if any losses in P4 would be water weight losses easily regained or if my hypothalamus/ metabolism had been re-set to the point where my body was functioning differently than it had before. (was kind of hoping for the latter).

I lost weight in P3 and P4 on both of my rounds. I ended my last P2 at 15 pounds from goal, and really didn't want to do another round. So P4 for me is much like P3, pretty low-carb, which is how i plan to stay. And now I'm just 1 pound from goal, and that's with several cheats over the holidays. I'm sure you can drop those last few pounds. Good luck!

I was wondering the same thing! I don't think at the end of this round, I'll be 10lbs from my goal. I really REALLY don't want to do another round. So maybe I'll try this to get to my goal. I'm just wondering about maintenance. After my first round, I lost 8lbs but it seemed like I couldn't keep it off and I kept coming back to my LDW. How long have people keep off the additional weight they lost after P4 and how challenging was it?? Thanks!!

I'm only a couple weeks past P4, but of course P4 and Maintenance are basically the same thing. There are some threads on this forum for folks who have been doing it for a while, like the Lifetime Stablizers, or something like that. I just know it hasn't been too much of a challenge as long as I keep away from the sugar and starch. Once I get a bite of that stuff, the carb cravings start and I'm back on that slippery downhill slope. It's a matter of making up my mind that if I want to stay at this weight and keep wearing the cute little clothes and all, there are some things I just can't eat. Period. I've been on the diet roller coaster all of my adult life, and at 54, I've finally decided it's time to grow up and take charge of my health.

I got 17# down from my last day of maintenance over the course of about 2 or 3 months (would have to look it up). I just continued to eat real food and not the fake, man-made manufactured food. I have not worked in exercise as of yet but know that I need to especially in the dead of winter when I'm just not out moving around as much as my prime work season in the summer.

I did, however, gain a few pounds -- just a few -- but more importantly, my body composition changed because of the non-movemet COUPLED with over-consumption of "winter comfort foods" of FAGE yogurt, almonds and dried fruits. I have NOT been getting my veggies in so I know that is critical.

Since I really just would like to lose 10-20 pounds more, I really want to do it without relying on doing another round.

PS. I also was not drinking my "Skinny Coffee" and went back to my old routine of drink 3 or 4 cups of regular coffee in the mornings. So I'm going back to that, too. I keep forgetting that the skinny coffee was probably a factor in my continued weight loss. Sorry.
