    Year End Reflections - 2011

Hello good people! newbies, old guard, and those in between on their adventures in weight loss, and hopefully a better, healthier lifestyle! I'm writing this for those who might stumble in, desparately wanting to lose some weight, and for those who've been doing this for awhile. I invite you to share your stories of the last years losses, or gains, and your desires for the coming year. One thing I learned from this process is it's important to have: 1) GOALS 2) PLAN 3) PREPAREDNESS 4) DESIRE/MOTIVATION Sure, I used to be more of a fly by the seat of my pants type of person, but I found that style does not lend well to weight loss. Alas, I have become a creature of routine, have mapped out behaviours and techniques for success, and try my best to not backslide into the old routines.

I lost 40 lbs in 2011. I could have lost more, but I'll admit I wasn't focused enough, dedicated enough. I was a rogue dieter, but I lost it steadily and have not gained between rounds and have stabilized beautifully. I know to the core of my being that I won't regain, and that in 2012 I will lose the last 20 or 30 lbs, with or without hcg. Because I learned and changed. I eat a whole natural diet, and avoid processed foods 99% of the time. I never eat wheat, and rarely eat corn or rice. I traded my morning bowl of cereal for bacon, steak and eggs and found that shuts off my hunger like nobodies business. I use cream in my coffee... I'm not chasing the low fat high fiber monster that made me fat to begin with. I eat fruits and vegetables in season just as our ancestors used to do, and I turn off the lights and go to sleep early enough to get 8 ro 9 hours sleep, just as our forebearers did. They follow the natural patterns of the seasons, as is natural for our species. I didn't know that my late nights watching TV or being on the computer were such a hardship on my bodily systems, nearly as important as the type of fuel I consume. Now I know better. I feel great! and I'm looking forward to continue health and happiness in the year to come.

Blessings to you and yours! May you reach your goals & find health and happiness in 2012!

Paleo is a great way of living, hard on the pocket book though to get organic fruits and vegetables and grass fed beef but well worth it if you can do it.

I like this post. I think it's important that we take time to reflect and not just lose weight. I did 2 rounds in 2011 (nearing the end of round 2 now). While I know that HCG has been the solution to my weight loss woes, it is not easy and requires the things that you mentioned in your post. If we expect to keep it off we have to change how we deal with food and hunger. I did my first round in July and didn't begin another until November. Your point on processed foods is so right. I avoid them as much as possible...including sugar. I had small gains and losses between rounds as I learned to control my weight. I am down roughly 45 pounds and extremely pleased with this process and what I've learned about my body. It is my hope to lose a few more pounds after this final round, but doing so by utilizing the things I've always done; working out, staying active and now eating better. In fact, working out alone helped me go from 240 pounds to a very solid 220 (size 20 - 16) After HCG, I will be in a size 12 and about 175 pounds.

Thanks so much for your insight. You shared some things I'd not thought about, but plan to try.
