ok...... So what does it matter what she thinks? Anyone can always find a positive and a negative reason not to do something. How many crappy drugs has the FDA "Approved" - only months later to pull because of tons of deaths etc.. because the drugs really are crap?

Most people who are using hhcg, already believe in homeopathy and the principles behind it- and don't give much weight to what they (the ef-de-aye) say anyways...

Know why you prefer homeopathy, and how homeopathics work- why you chose hCG and why it DOES work, and when she gives you flack- give her your response.

From FDA article: “These products are marketed with incredible claims and people think that if they're losing weight, HCG must be working,” says Elizabeth Miller, acting director of FDA’s Division of Non-Prescription Drugs and Health Fraud. “But the data simply does not support this; any loss is from severe calorie restriction. Not from the HCG.”

    I respectfully disagree.

I received a BodyBugg for Christmas (and I love it). It shows me how many calories I burn each day (as close as you can come to it anyway), how many steps I take, etc. I have a VERY good idea how many calories I burn during a normal workday – between 1900 & 2200 calories. (That is without additional exercise.)

We know that for every 3,500 calories you burn over what you eat, you lose a pound. If that is a scientific fact (and I think the FDA would agree with it), there is NO WAY I should have been able to lose 16.5 pounds in 20 days unless I was burning - through physical effort - at least 3500 calories nearly every day, which I am not.
According to my math, taking a 2,000 calorie daily burn average, I have burned approx 40,000 calories in the past 20 days & consumed est. 10,000 = 8.5 lbs lost.

I have lost 16.5 pounds and had NO HUNGER & NO WEAKNESS in 20 days. I have done an 800 cal-a-day diet in the past. I know from personal experience the difference in hunger & fatigue on THAT program, even with RX Meds for appetite suppression (done under a doctor’s care as the FDA approves) and on HCG. My blood pressure numbers are nearly 120/80; I’ve dropped over 40 points off my “bad” LDL cholesterol numbers. Maybe that would have happened anyway, BUT staying on the 800 calorie diet w/o the hcg help was nearly impossible to stay on for long . . . and I was always very hungry & fatigued.

I will consider 2 or 3 of those 16.5 pounds could be water loss (even tho’ I drink 100 oz a day). Another pound or two could be from the 2 loading days. That still gives me 11.5 pounds of weight loss and does not even take into consideration the nearly TEN INCHES of body fat I have shed in 20 days, from problem areas (FOUR inches from my waist alone) that the weight-loss community will tell you is impossible to spot-reduce away.

This is only one point I could make from the article your friend shared with you. Of course, you must do what is right for YOU.

I’m not trying to convince you one way or the other, but just sharing basic information that I think most successful followers could also share with you. I personally do NOT believe that hcg continues to work for you when you get within 12-15 pounds of the right weight for you. I think it is meant to reset your body burning process, get the ABNORMALLY STORED fat burned off, and then it is up to you to eat properly & exercise, which I do believe in as well.

Best of luck on your journey!!

Great information. Thanks! I know we all like approval from our friends and family. The truth is we as people don't always agree, so we aren't going to find people who always agree with us. A favorite line of my moms always was if your friend was jumping off a bridge would you? That was her line to "well everyone is going or doing or whatever". Look at not being on hcg as the bridge. Aren't you glad you aren't jumping off but staying in the fast lane to success!!

    Good luck!
I am down over 70 pounds total!!

First off, I applaud you for being brave enough to tell your friends what you are doing. I took the chicken route and haven't mentioned it to anyone but my DH and 1 friend who is doing it with me. I KNEW that once people heard how I was choosing to lose weight, they would all offer their unsolicited opinions.

But it is just that, an opinion. And those are like a@#holes, everyone has one. So take it with a grain of salt. Be proud of yourself for being proactive adn getting healthy. There are thousands of people on HCG and thier success stories should be all the proof and support you need.

And when you are your new skinny sexy thinner self, maybe your firend will change her tune. Good Luck!!

There are many studies that suggest calorie restriction is the key to longevity. They recommend a 40% reduction in calories from the average American diet. As long as restricting the calories is causing you to burn excess fat and you are not in an annorexic situation. I don't understand her objection. I imagine it is because she may not be aware of such studies. Thank her for her concern and advise her you've studied the available evidence and this is your chosen route to weight loss success. Tell her you'd appreciate her support and if she can't give she needs to respect your decision and stay out of your business.

It sounds more like the FDA is having a fit because something has not "met with their approval" and others are not so subtly telling them to go jump in a lake. The FDA also tried to shut down a dairy farm because the farmer had the audacity to drink his own milk fresh from the cow as opposed to sending it out to be pasturized in an FDA approved facility and then buying it back from a store. Talk about control issues. The FDA also told us for several decades that margarine was a healthy food. Just sayin' - the declarations of the FDA aren't necessarily the gospel truth.

From personal experience, I should have been able to lose 10 to 12 pounds for the 6 month period that I ate a modest, very healthy diet and exercised 4 times per week. I actually lost 3 lbs. Now why is that? The FDA's calculations sure weren't working for me then.

The other issue is that if a person only had 500 calories per day without the hcg, after a while they would stop functioning properly. I've seen people on near starvation diets (without hcg) and it's not pretty. Either they stop losing weight, succumb to weakness or mental strain, can't walk without resting after 2 minutes, or what have you. If hcg is working properly, then those things will not happen on the 500 calorie diet, even up to and past 40 straight days. I'm sorry, but you simply can't convince me that the hcg is a placebo.
