Good morning all!!! My little “experiment” seems to have bitten me squarely in the buttocks. Going over 2,000 calories on Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday – even tho’ all foods were legal P3’s – has resulted in a 199.2 weight this morning. You can imagine my dismay at the “advice” I’ve been reading to NOT count calories, but rather just to eat whatever you want, when you feel hungry, as long as as you don’t eat sugar/starches. I’m glad I kept up with my calories because it is obvious that 2,000+ per day is going to be too much, even if they are all protein/low carb vegs. Also, I’m thinking I am one of those “lucky” people who gain eating coconut oil. I know for sure I’m breaking out with those horrid, hard-centered, sore-as-hell pimples on my face and chin – something I haven’t experienced in well over 10 years (when I was just starting menopause and hormones were bouncing off walls). Weigh gain and pimples - you KNOW I'm not liking that!

So, strategy for this week –
    Keep calories right at 1800 a day, Keeping protein about 16 oz a day, adding in more P3 legal vegs;
    Stop eating coconut oil (NO Coco-Crack – SOB! ) [/B]except for 1 T. if I’m eating scrambled eggs (I actually enjoy eggs now cooked in coconut oil);
Go to the gym 3 times this week, for 30 minute light cardio; nothing crazy hard.
Continue to weigh every day & measure at the end of the week.

I know everyone on this Forum will be screaming for me to do a Steak Day or a Correction Day of some kind and I don’t like any of them. (Correction Days, I mean.) They just seem to be a different version of all the weird eating things I’ve done in past years to try to lose weight, that would end up coming back anyway. In Dr. S’s protocol, he calls for a steak day to help lose extra pounds gained in P3, but pounds that have been put back on BECAUSE THE PATIENT WAS NOT EATING ENOUGH. That is definitely NOT my case, and I’ve eaten red meat 6 out of the last 4 days - too much red meat already, I'm thinking.

    Enough about me.

Bobbi, I’m so sorry to hear that your cold is just not getting better!! Take care of yourself. The Hubs had a “cold” for nearly 2 months – never getting bad (with fever or anything) just sniffle, sniffle, sniffle. He ended up getting a steroids shot and some antibiotics because the Doc couldn’t tell if he was having severe allergies or an infection deep in his sinus. However, I’m THRILLED to hear you are now in the Excellent 80’s!! How wonderful!! Doesn’t it feel magnificent to finally say “goodbye” to Plus sizes? I’m gonna be praying your last 9 days are VERY productive for you.

Lori – understand the fatigue you must be feeling, particularly since you’ve basically had a period for 22 years – UGH!! You should listen to your body. 20 lbs in 22 days is a FABULOUS loss – be VERY proud of that!! Be careful with your transition to P3 – I hope and pray you do better than I’m doing to stabilize.

Must get to work – will check in later this afternoon.

XOXOXOXO - You really keep me going, Losers!

    Me again (who else?)

Researching actions to take when experiencing a gain in P3. From Dr. S's Pounds & Inches:

If you see a Steak Day drawing near, you can do the following, which will usually bring your weight down a pound or so the next day:
    1) Drink lots of water that day
    2) Don’t eat until lunch
    3) Have a whole can of tuna (water packed), or chicken with mayo on either lettuce or celery for lunch
    4) Have a big portion of protein for dinner with a small salad and carbohydrate dressing

Having tuna with mayo/celery for lunch today; planning on 10 oz. grilled chicken tonight, with salad. Will see if I gain or lose overnight. If I gain, I guess I'll do the damn Steak/Apple day tomorrow - grrrrrr (right after I tear my clothing, dress in all black & upend some ashes over my head). Seriously, tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, so if I have to "fast" tomorrow, at least I'll have a double reason to do it.

(pout, pout, pout - I really thought P3 would be a breeze compared to P2.)

Still nixing the Coco-Crack & coconut oil, just in case that has been my downfall. And BTW, I have had NO alcohol of any kind for the past 10 days. (ahhhhh! That is my problem . . . . My liver is probably in shock & withdrawal.)

On Thursday we'll see if all this planning has resulted in me returning to 195 (my LW at end of P2).

Thanks for letting me "think aloud".
    Christy

Christy, sorry to hear that you are suffering girl Especially since we have all already done our "Lent"...It is funny because the word lent in French means slow...hmmmmmmmm, perhaps our patience is being tested...

You are always so encouraging and supportive...you deserve more! I'm sending you a virtual hug and all the support you dish out 24/7 back at ya!

Thanks for the prayers, I need all the help I can get!!!

I was organizing my "favourites" and came across this http://skinnyup.com/faq.asp ...I don't even remember going on that site LOL...it obviously was pre-HCG...anyway, this person said to eat protein every time you eat in p3, which was new for me. She also mentions an HCG book...I wonder if it is any good.

If it helps anyone go for it, if not ignore it. Didn't check the rest of the site, just the FAQsé

Hang in there all you ladies... things will fall into place!

    Hi all,

Christy, sorry that things are not settling down for you in P3 I suppose you do have some kind of intolerance to the coconut oil. All my life, any time I eat hard candy, I break out, so that's my poison. I bought a jar of coconut oil to prepare for P3, and on the jar it said that you can use it in your hair! Laughed a little at that.

Bobbi, I feel like I have pooped out on you. I just couldn't take another day of the drops! Yesterday early morning was my last dose. I dropped almost a pound from yesterday. Don't know why. I'm getting really hungry, and I've had a headache all day today. My stomach growled so loudly in class this morning that about 4 other people around me heard it. I'm still pounding water, but there's only so much it can do.

I made up a reintroduction plan for the three weeks of P3:

Day 1 - 3 : mix veggies & raise calories, try a protein shake for breakfast
    Day 4 - 6 : add Greek yogurt & raise calories
    Day 7 - 9 : add oils
    Day 10 - 12 : add cheese
Day 13 - 15 : add snacks (veggie chips, pork rinds)
    Day 16 - 18 : add nuts
Day 19 - 21 : add other meats (chicken wings, ribs, pork)

Hope this works out for me. Of course, I have to actually stick with it for it to have a chance

That's all for now. Hope everyone is doing well.
    Lori

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry about ME...I'm a big girl...in more ways than one LOL

Seriously, you need to do what is right for YOU...if I didn't have that doctor's appt, I would have bailed a long time ago!!!

As long as you ladies don`t mind me griping about my p2 woes, I`m fine! Thanks for thinking of me .

BTW, I used coconut oil in my hair and it was so hard to wash out...definitely not a good idea for fine hair!!!

I took a decongestant at 1:30 p.m. and it didn`t do much but suddenly, I am feeling a bit better ...maybe I`m finally getting rid of this bug

Good night ladies, kisses to all!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies! Lori: Don't feel bad at all for stopping drops. I really cannot imagine doing more than 23 days. I was counting down the hours... Bobbi - you are strong as steel! Christi: I'm anxious to hear how TES treats you tomorrow.

P3 is still being nice to me. I've been eating sugar free candy, low carb ice cream, etc. but so far so good. The scale has not moved, which really has solidified my faith in the hhcg. Part of me was sure that the weight would return just as quick as it left. I can almost imagine doing another round in a couple of months to really get down to ing almy ideal weight, which I never thought was possible.

Vacation starts tomorrow night for me! I'm packing almonds for the plane... You likely won't hear much from me for the next 10 days. I look forward to checking in on everyone's progress when I return!

Lori – Your P3 plan -I could be wrong, but I think you can have oils right away; be sure you are getting enough protein – you can now have 6-8 oz AT EACH MEAL. Re: Coconut Oil, anytime I use it to cook and have a little left on my fingers (like where I scraped it off the spoon or bowl) I rub it all over my hands & forearms. It is Great for your skin. I didn’t think about using on my hair (I have very fine hair - in that pic of mine, I have a LOT of volumizer and hairspray!); maybe just the ends of my hair? I’ll bet that calms the frizzies down if you have them!

“Pounding Water” – ROTF LMAO!! That is SO what we all do, isn’t it? I have become an EXPERT Water CHugger.

Bobbi – are you taking Musinex? That stuff REALLY works for me to keep anything/everything out of my lungs. I take it the second I have a scratchy throat or hacky cough. I have it at home all the time, particularly the one that is also a cough suppressant.

Alaska – WE WILL MISS YOU!! But hope you have an amazing trip – want to hear all about it. We’re still paying off DD’s college loans (fingers crossed that will get done this year!) so I have to travel vicariously through my friends. Details, I need details!!

Have we lost DramaM & Skerd? What about Orky & Kahlan?? Please let us hear how you are doing!

Had 1700 calories yesterday; dropped 1.2 lbs. overnight. Hope, hope, hope this means I might stabilize around 1800 calories a day, which is actually perfect, since that is what I burn on work days; once I add in a few exercise sessions, I should be able to start losing weight like everyone else does – healthy eating & exercise. Still trying to get my weight back to 195 WITHOUT a Steak Day or Fat Fast. Will re-measure this weekend, to make sure inches are not creeping, but my clothes still feel good.
