    Unhappy P2 Poor results...help

    Hi Grammy,

This is my second time trying the HCG diet. The first time I did well, I lost 17 lbs. However, this time my results a re very sluggish. The first time I had less weight to lose. I am 5 feet 4 inches, and the first time I went from 138 to 121. I fiqured I was close to a stable weight and finished losing. This time is much different. i was ill and whatever I had (never diagnosed) Made me gain weight. I was a startling 159 when I started this diet. I did not eat poorly to gain this weight. In fact I kept a journal to show doctors and they were all perplexed. Some was water, but they put me on meds to lose that. I have exhausted doctors. In fact I spent 2 weeks at the mayo clinic and they said Fibromyalgia and something else not yet diagnosed. They checked my thyroid and adrenals, all normal.

Anyway. I was sick of the weight gain and feeling like crap so I took back control and decided to go back on this diet. I thought back about how people on this diet that have had medical conditions improved so I was hopeful. So 13 days ago at a weight of 159 I started again. I do real HCG drops. They come already made. I am much fatter and usually you lose fat faster then. I am at 152.1 today. Yes I have lost 6.9 lbs, but that is minimal compared to past experience and what the diet says about the more you have to lose the more that usually comes off.

I DO NOT CHEAT. I weigh my protein before cooking, no exceptions on condiments. In truth I do not use anything but sea salt and that is pure. So my diet has been quite bland. A small price to pay for what I want. I chart everything and avoid foods that make me have poor results (example I cant eat shrimp or cabbage, they make me gain). I even use just pure apple cider vinegar on my salad, none of the recipes in the book.

I am at my wits end. I have never been this weight in my life, and can not lose it. I have gone from a size 4 to a size 14. I can not look like this. I have started some light toning, like sit ups, and walking but that is it. Also, I am a nurse and I am well versed in what I can and cant do. This diet is fine for my health, and I read all products and watch everything I eat.

    Please help me!

    Thank you,

    Catnip

If you have fibro, you are hypothyroid, no matter what Mayo clinic told you. That's probably why your weight ballooned up. Find a doctor who will listen and check your thyroid out fully. Can you get the lab results you had run at the mayo?

Also for now, cut out your fruit and replace it with 200 calories of more protein.

Thank you! I will try the additional protein and delete the fruit.
I had a past hyperthyroid, and they checked all that, but I can't help but feel like you are 100% right. Even though my numbers are "normal" I don't think they are normal for me. I will try to get a doctor to listen, but I have been to so many and no one wants to diagnose me. Where did responsibility go? I will keep trying.

    Thanks,

    D

You may have been hyperthyroid. Most people with thyroid problems have hashis so they vary between hypo and hyper as the thyroid is being damaged. Gluten is causing the damage.

    Hi,

I'm on my first round & feeling a bit disheartened.

My husband & I are both doing hCG for the first time & are on day 4 of the VLCD.

He is going great guns, but I don't think my results are very good.

Being new to this I thought I would ask for the opinion of others on what constitutes 'good' results before I get too upset about it.

    My results are;

    Load1 204.81 -- --
    Load2 206.57 1.76 (Daily +/_) 1.76 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD1 208.56 1.99 (Daily +/_) 3.75 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD2 205.91 -2.65 (Daily +/_) 1.10 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD3 204.15 -1.76 (Daily +/_) -0.66 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD4 203.20 -0.95 (Daily +/_) -1.61 (Overall +/_)

    My husband's results are;

    Load1 217.60 -- --
    Load2 219.80 2.20 (Daily +/_) 2.20 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD1 220.46 0.66 (Daily +/_) 2.86 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD2 216.05 -4.41 (Daily +/_) -1.55 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD3 213.63 -2.42 (Daily +/_) -3.97 (Overall +/_)
    VLCD4 211.42 -2.21 (Daily +/_) -6.18 (Overall +/_)

Your thoughts on whether my progress is normal, ok, poor etc would help me know if this is what's to be expected or if I must be doing something wrong.

    Thanks

Can I strongly suggest you get a good workup and testing panel for Lyme disease? It's tough to diagnose, and the tests tend to be unreliable -- and weight gain is a major effect of it. It is often misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia -- I'm speaking from my own experiences here.
    Post load weight: 114.4

    VLCDs: 112.0, 111.4, 110, 109.4, 109.4, 110.2, 110.2, 109.2. 107.8, 108., 107.2, ..... 106.8, 106, 105.8, 105.6, 106.6, 106.6, 108.2 (!), 105.4, 105.6, 107.4, 106

Relaod: 4 days high fat, moderate protein (and TOM)

    Resume p2: 107.8, 107.4, 107.8,

Wow, I got bitten by a tick when I was 15. I hadn't heard of Lyme Disease until you just mentioned it minimonkey. I'm also going to look into it, but I think it's hard to diagnose / treat in Australia.
