It's normal to gain 1-3 pounds when you introduce ANY food. You've got more bulk in your intestines. You are very unlikely to stabilize below your LIW. So be realistic.![]()
Ok so my brain tells me that "hey it's normal gain, don't freak!" BUTtttt that little voice says...."it's not gonna work, you're gonna gain it ALL back!" (insert evil laugh here)!
History: April 1-14 lost 16.3#'s
Lost 3.7#'s more on last days of vlcd
Now two days of P3 eating and have gained 1.5#
I've stuck with adding only eggs, mixed veggies, butter and cottage cheese. I did eggs and cottage cheese during P2 off and on so I felt pretty safe with those. Oh and I've added salmon, beef and made my own pork sausage this am using only spices, ground pork and 1 packet of Truvia. I also had 1 coconut cupcake (coconut flour, eggs, xylitol) and 1 spoonfull of chocolate frosting (cocoa, butter, xylitol, vanilla) during the last two days.
Wow now that I've written it all out I sound like an ungrateful brat, wants to eat her cake and not gain weight too! LOL BTW not what I'm shooting for at all ;-)
I know I've got "wiggle" room but I don't want to close the gap in the first couple of days. Should I go ahead and try something new or wait another day? Also if you wanted to test out dairy does that include cream cheese, cheddar cheese and cream all in one or are those all seperate?
Thanks, Lynn

Thanks Grammy! I'm really not trying to stabilize under my LIW I can just feel the panic creeping up as the weight does! My last two P3's didn't end well, I gained and gained despite steak days and high protein days and VERY clean eating. Last round I lost over 33#'s and gained 12-15 back (23 days P2 42 days P3) not the kind of pattern I want to start :-(
I was just looking at this again. You were only on P2 for 14 days?

Yes plus two load days so total 16 injections. I'm attempting my first cycling round, two weeks P2 two weeks P3 give or take. After 4 full rounds I needed a change, my heart wasn't in it and after doing some research this really seemed workable for me. I'm going to stick with this (unless it goes to he**) for 3 rounds of 2/2 then I'll stop and re-evaluate.
** Ducks from the wet noodle lashing**
I know, I know the protocol works and I will go back to a FULL round when I feel it's appropriate for me or when I've reached my goal weight. (long time to go for that though)
You did a short round and didn't stabilize well so I'm just concerned that you need a longer round to reset your hypothalamus. I see a lot more instability on a 23 day round. And then to just follow up with 14 days. Well, it may be rough. Time will tell though.

grammy she has done long rounds and not stabilized either. The lack of stabilizing doesn't have anything to do with cycling. Please note this is her first attempt at cycling.
"My journey in a nut shell:
R1P1 49 days P2 22 days P4 21 days
R2 P2 33 days P3 29 days P4 50 days
R3 P2 23 days P3 40 days P4 5 days
R4 P2 23 days or I'd thought but had actually miscounted injections so only 20 days. P3 25days Never really entered P4 as I'd didn't quite stabilize
R5 (current) P2 vlcd 10 and not enjoying it at all! :-( "
Sorry, didn't notice I was in the cycling forum!![]()

You're just fine! Remember to add only one thing each day and see now you do. Try to eat as clean as possible. I'm not concerned about that little bit of gain ( although I know you are). I very rarely change much in my diet on p3 since I am not on it that long, I just eat more of p2 foods and add one new thing per day. First day I might add cheese, then the next a mixed salad....see what I mean? I do this every P3 because even though I did great the previous P3, I might no the next with the same foods. I have no idea why this diet does that, but every on in a while it does.
