I used morning starr farms, boca and protein shakes and did not have issues. Sure I had days I did not lose but all HCG-ers have those days. I basically counted calories to be sure I got right around 500 calories. I looked up how many calories and grams of protein meat eaters would get from their protein sources and attempted to come as close as possible with my protein source. Since most meat alternatives have some carbs I skipped the fruit (or only had one) and melba. I was able to get between 50-60 grams of protein most days.
Some gardein products are likely ok as well. 2 of the scallopini chick'n are 180 calories, 8 grams of carbs and I think 28 grams of protein. add in the veggie which are pretty low calorie and you might get 210 calories from the one meal. So in reality you still have room for some fruit it you want it. Often I would have a protein shake for lunch with plant fusion protein powder, a few strawberries, unsweetened almond milk, stevia and water. I could usually fill in the calories and push the protein up to 60 for the day with the shake. But I have to say protein shakes get really old, so you wanna come up with a variety of dishes to keep yourself from becoming disgusted with food.
I ate a lot of P2 chili because of how fast and easy it was to make. It is basically boca crumbles, diced tomatoes, spices and a little water. Simmer to break down the flavors. I lost 30 pounds on HCG.
