I use one whole egg and 3 egg whites...also I read somewhere its ok to use unsweetened protein powder with one piece of fruit for a smoothie...but that counts as one meat serving and one fruit serving of course =)

One whole egg plus three whites wouldn't give me anywhere near the protein I need. I have 10 egg whites (170 calories, 36g protein) at lunch and 8 egg whites (136 calories, 28.8g protein) at dinner. It's easy to stay under 500 calories with those. I'm a vegetarian so that's the only protein I'm getting on phase two (I'm not willing to take the cut in weight loss by eating dairy). I fry them in nothing so they stick to the pan a little, and it's monotonous to eat egg whites for six weeks (!) but it gives me the protein and calories I need without the fat.

On P2 my average has been 1.34 lbs/day. It went fast at first and it's slowed a bit. I'm on day 14 of phase 2 and just decided to do an apple day today because I've plateaued for two days.
What has your weight loss been like?

Give it a try. I think as long as you stay under the 500 calories you should be fine.

nelygirl - I just bought some pure whey protein isolate powder. It has the lactose filtered out so since there are no sugars in it I'm hoping it won't interfere with weight loss. It has no other ingredients other than a tiny amount of soy lecithin (an anti-caking agent). I noticed Melba toast also has soy lecithin so I think that will be okay. I'm going to use the whey protein isolate in place of eggs for a few days and see how it goes. 1.5 scoops have 158 calories and 38g of protein so it's about equivalent to egg whites.
I've tried eating boiled egg whites (I just remove the yolk) but for some reason it's harder for me to get all of them down than when I fry them. Maybe frying removes some of the moisture so there's less bulk to consume, I don't know.
