Teddi, I hope you get your hcg dose/meds all figured out. That can be such a tricky thing. This will be a quick post, but I had to stop in and give you all an update. Yep teddi, I am just getting to the doctor after all this time. It took me awhile to get insurance figured out. By that time, my doctor was on maternity leave so I found a new doctor closer to where I live. I had to wait 3 weeks to get in, but at least I got something scheduled. I ended up keeping my appointment for today, but as luck would have it, TOM showed up yesterday which makes today the absolute heaviest day of my cycle. Nice huh? So I went in, didn't have an exam, but talked with the doctor. I didn't tell her how long this has really been going on (insurance crap). I just played up the symptoms over the last couple weeks. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday, so that's good! Now I'll really be asking for good vibes/thoughts/prayers from you gals. I'm nervous, but relieved that progress is being made. I'm sad that P2 is being delayed though. I would be well into round 4 if things had gone as planned and I'd weigh less instead of more! My jeans are tight. No joke. I've been trying to stick to high protein days, but honestly, I'm so sick of no carbs!!!

Okay, gotta run for now. Sorry no personals right now. But teddi, fralline, jessica, tater, and skinny, I love you all. I'll try to check back in later, but I'm really into the Hunger Games books at the moment. I'm almost done with book 2, so will be jumping right into book 3. Hope you're all doing really well and I hope to see posts from all of you when I check back later! xoxo
Julia ~ I'm so glad you'll be getting the sonogram done next week. I'm absolutely praying for you and keeping the faith that it will all be fine. R4 will always be there, don't stress. lol

About the Fat Fast, if you want lots of reading on it, there's an entire thread about it over on LowCarbFriends: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/hc...rs-thread.html. Fat Fast is something people do on Atkins, but I'm finding more and more people are trying it on P2 and having success. I've used it as a Correction Day in P2 before. I think the last time I dropped 4 pounds overnight, but that was after a big weekend gain.

The short of it is you eat 1000 to 1200 calories of food that is no-to-very-low carb and 80+% fat. The higher fat, the better. The recommendation is 200 calorie mini-meals spread out over the day. I did this in my last Round of P2--tried it for 3 days and dropped over 4 pounds in week 3 of P2, which is usually super slow losses for me. Not only is the loss nice, it stays when you continue on protocol, and I felt so much better when I was on it than on regular protocol. I think my body just likes dietary fat. However, not everyone feels great. I think Skinny tried it for a day or two last round and felt really yucky, so it may not be for everyone.

So...it's pretty yummy stuff as compared to protocol food, in my opinion. From what I read, it is best to only do it for 3-4 days max. But it seems like people on this thread I posted above are doing it for weeks at a time...I'm keeping an eye on their progress. Interesting.
Tate ~ I think I remember this. Is there a P3 version too? I think I messed it up BIG time and gained. I'm praying I can get a really good final 2 weeks in and start cycling. It's weird, I really LOVED P3 and just got thrown off by the holidays. By that time I was off my thyroid meds which is probably why I gained so much so quick and couldn't get it off. So we'll see what happens once my thyroid is under control and I get a clean couple of weeks under my belt.

My mom had a chest x-ray on monday, and the pneumonia is clearing up, but they are waiting for it to be completely gone before they do the scope of the inside of her lungs... they think that what she has is an autoimmune thing called sarcoidosis (sp?!), and that is completely manageable with treatment. A huge sigh of relief for my family, we were all very very worried about her for a while, she has always been a very healthy woman, never smoked, healthy weight, excercises regularly, so for someone like her to be so ill has really been awful for us. Thank you all for your concern, support and understanding during this tough time.
Life for me has been busy as well, working steady (I am now working an extra day compared to what I was doing in the fall, so that's a bit of a transition for me!), plus swimming lessons for all 3 kids, figure skating 2x/week for the two girls, home reading, housework, etc! I am sitting at about 3 lbs over LDW right now, but I'm fine with that. I really should get back into excercise though, and am planning on starting that up very soon. I have even been neglecting my yoga lately! Anyway, I did flirt with the idea of another round but I am out of drops and I really am sick of having rules for eating! Once I start up with the yoga and working out my focus will be on toning up a bit and getting back into running with the couch to 5 K program.

Teddi, sorry that you are having a rough time at round 2. I know my appetite goes bonkers around TOM too, so that in addition to the new thyroid med and I would be the same way! Are you still sticking with your workouts through P2?
Skinny ~ One of my bff's and my cousin have sarcoidosis. It is very manageable thank God. Bernie Mac started a sarcoidosis foundation because he had it also. They might be a resource for you to get more information. I'm so happy you guys have a diagnosis and can move ahead. Sounds like your life is already getting settled into a new normal. :-)
I haven't been working out because I've been so focused on business, but I am going to get back into my routine. I'm thinking about starting a fitness challenge group on FB so I will have to get back into a routine for at least 30 days with that. TOM is always nightmarish with hCG so yeah I kind of have the perfect storm going on around here. lol

Other than a couple of days of fogginess and lethargy, all is good here. DD is gone for 8 days so I am going to be hard at work implementing the basics my business coach has taught me. It's also a great time to get the eating under control. So that's that... I'll check back in with you all later...Hope you've all been having a GREAT weekend!

    XoXo ~T

Well it is totally DEAD in here =(

Anyway... I am still sick & when I went to mix my HCG today... I saw they sterile vials they sent me aren't vials... they are a twist top =(... So now I really don't know what to do!!! I have sent a message to Grammy asking what her thoughts were on plastic. I am going to try to go back to my original idea of mixing the HCG into the Bac water vial... which of course is plastic.

Ugh... there is one pharmacy that might have glass vials but they weren't open today... I will call tomorrow but if not... I am stuck on a creek without a paddle =(....

    GGRRRRR

How is everyone??!! I hope you all are okay and doing well!

oh Jessica - icky..sorry you have the crud Hope your drugs are making it better. How are the puppies doing? I wish I had some words of wisdom for you on any of what you asked on your shots and/or the antibiotics...but I did the HHCG drops..and wasnt on any other meds (that I remember) while doing the drops. But I will be your cheerleader! Go TEAM Jessica....kick that bug!

Teddi - so nice to see you around again Hope you are doing well with your business plan and your P2. How is Mr. M doing? Do you folks live close by that they can take DD to school?

Julia Gulia - xoxoxoxoxoxoox sending you all my mojo and good thoughts

Tater - Hows the battle? diet and work..hahaha - hey werent you going to do a more independent thing this year in your business? Hows that plan coming together

skinny - so glad things are going smoother in your world. Yaaaaay Mommy! Hows your weather been up there?

AFM - im 2.5 over today...i kinda went a little crazy this weeknd and the 2.5 is really a good thing, I was 3 over yesterday..ugh...darn the chinese food, coronas, and chocolate chip cookies..what is wrong with me? Clean eats for this chick til Friday - then its all going out the window again..haha husband is making clam spaghetti Friday, then Saturday is our friends 50th B-Day party...so food and drink for the first hour and then the party Bus will roll in (that part his gf is surprising him with) and Sunday is the Daytona 500 so we will crawl over to our other friends house with our raging hangovers from the Party Bus night and have a little hair of the dog. I have been a total slacker on running..but will do much better and do my alternating day of yoga again this week. My son stopped by the house yesterday and gave me the greatest compliment - he said "Mom you need to eat something, look at your legs!" Guess he has never seen any definition in my legs..hahaha Oh my!

YAY Fralline! I was beginning to think this was my own personal diary! Funny your son told you to eat something! How old is he?? Usually when they are older they would rather have a girl starve herself than gain a pound or two! HAH

Well anyway, I am loading today despite not having the proper vial. I just used the plastic Bac water vial.... I figured using plastic is no different than using pre-filled injections which are also plastic! So anyway... I will gorge myself today with yummy stuff & then do a FFF day tomorrow with avocado's, jalapanos filled with cream cheese & bacon, nuts... etc.

Anyway... I hope everyone is well!

    Hello my friends!

Jessica, hope you don't mind me barging in on your diary. Thanks for keeping the thread going these days. So how are you feeling? Are you still sick? I know this is late, but I don't think P2 and antibiotics are a problem. I also don't know much about vials and mixing since my injections were pre-mixed, but sounds like you got that figured out. I wouldn't think the plastic would be a problem. So are you into P2 now? If so, I hope it's going well! You can do it!!!! You'll be ready for spring/summer!

Skinny, thanks so much for checking in on my doctor day! I appreciate it. As far as what's been going, the ultrasound is to look at all my lady parts inside. I've been having ongoing lower right abdominal pressure for awhile now with occasional pain there. It feels like where my right ovary would be. All the other problems I was having - constipation and the nightmare hemorrhoid are long gone. It's just this weird lower abdomen thing I've been so worried about. The ultrasound will definitely show what's going on. I'm SO happy to hear your mom is on the mend and the likely explanation is something very manageable and treatable. That must be a huge relief for you and your family. I'm so glad to hear it! Sounds like you've been keeping busy. Good for you being at 3 over! Not bad at all. I'd be happy to be there!

Teddi, How is life without your mini me around? Have you been productive with your business endeavors? How's P2 going for you? I might have missed where you posted about it, but are you still in P2? Are you weighing? How's everything going? And how's mr. model? Are things still moving along with him? We haven't heard updates in awhile...

    Tater,
How are you? How's P2 going? And how are those poor, dry, cracked hands of yours? That sounds awful! Did the fat fast help at all with the dry skin? I hope so! I hope you're hanging in there with P2. I know this round has been a challenge for you. There must just be something about the first round - seems like we were all really good and well behaved the first time around. Hang in there!

Fralline! Sounds like life over there has been fun for you as usual. Your legs must be looking pretty darn good from your running. Way to go! I think you've done so awesome with maintaining. The 2.5 over is no big deal for you. I'm sure it came right off after a run. I can't seem to eat anything without gaining. And my gains seem to stick. How's everything else going for you? Is your son still single or did they get back together?

As for me, I want to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. Keep 'em coming! Tomorrow is the big day of the ultrasound. I am almost out of my mind nervous. I've been trying to distract myself by staying offline and reading books, but it's getting hard to focus. (Btw, if you're looking for something to read, I quite enjoyed the Hunger Games. Couldn't put them down). But anyway, I've just been so worried for awhile now and tomorrow is the day. I'm so scared of what they might find. I've just been praying and praying that whatever it is, it's completely 100% benign. Other than that, just way over my LIW as usual. I can't seem to eat carbs period, which really stinks. I love and miss carbs! I've been really good this week so far. Trying to eat strictly P3 foods - a lot of fage, eggs, ground sirloin, chicken, and salads... Really trying to push the water too, which admittedly, I'd been slacking on. If I could just stick to this for an extended period of time, I could probably get back down. But that means no indulging. We'll see. One thing at a time.... Hope you're all doing really well and hope to hear from you soon! Love you all! xoxo
    Round 1 start date: 1/22/11 - Lost 19 pounds
    Lost 1.6 during P3/P4
    Round 2 start date: 4/16/11 - Lost 18 pounds

Long break after round 2. Gained back 7 pounds because I was a big pig over the summer.

    Round 3 start date: 9/24/11 - Lost 14 pounds total - 7 new pounds, 7 old pounds :-)

    YAY! Another post!

Julia - Keep us posted on what happens tomorrow! I know this is a very long time that you've been going through this and will be great to finally get some answers!!! Push the water!!! That will be my hardest part right now cause I have SLACKED so long with out water! I am sure that added to my gains.

As for me... I am on day 1 of P2 and it is so so... I am still really sick with a cold/sinus infection. I went to the doctor yesterday & she gave me some antibiotics, cough syrup & nose spray. Day 1 of P2 is usually super slack for some reason and my loading days were kind of a bust because I haven't had much of an appetite. I've contemplated doing today as a fat fast day... but haven't really grasped what I am going to do yet. I have all the stuff for it that will just go bad... so I should just do it! A FFD for Day 1 will at least push me into ketosis faster!

Hi my friends! It's my weekly check-in, sorry, I just don't come over to this site very often anymore! Anyway, I have been thinking about all of you and I hope you are all doing great!

Jessica, that's great about you starting another round! I was on ABX in Phase 3 of my last round and had no problems, but that was off the hhcg drops. Good luck on your round, I know you want to get into the 120's... how long do you think you will go for this round?

Tate, how are you doing, you must be just about done this round? Have you done a weigh in yet? Let us know how you are doing with it! I hope your hands are better... mine get like that in the winter even without the hcg because I was my hands SO much at work! It gets pretty painful and my hands always feel very sandpapery and dry!

Julia, I have definitely been thinking good thoughts for you my friend! I hope that all of your fears are relieved tomorrow with the ultrasound! I know exactly how you feel, I had that ultrasound on my breast last month and the anticipation before that appointment was awful for me. Big hugs to you for tomorrow, you will be in my thoughts and I will be checking in to see how you are doing tomorrow evening!

Teddi, I love your FB posts! You must miss having mini-me around these days, huh!? Are you still in P2 and how are the losses going?

Fralline, that's a great complement from your son! SO you will be proud of me, I have decided that I am going to start running again in MARCH! Not too much to start out with, I'll probably do the couch to 5K program, but i am looking forward to running again! We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground though, so it will be pretty slow going until the roads are clear!

Afm, life is good! Things are pretty normal, still sitting at about 4-5 lbs over LDW but I don't care, if it's 5 lbs that I have to live with to enjoy all foods then I am cool with that for now. I signed up to do a 2hour/2x per week boot camp starting in May, and am looking forward to getting back to running, keeping up with yoga again, and just feeling happy and healthy again. My mom is seemingly better, but she will have to have some follow up tests soon. My kids are happy and healthy and keeping me busy!

    Round 1: - 17 lbs... LDW 138
    Round 2: - 15 lbs... LDW 131 lbs
