Haven't checked in with you gals for awhile! Today Is day 21 of VLCD. I'm down 22 lbs and very excited about that! I'm going to clinic here shortly to get measured. I haven't taken any measurements since day 4 so I'm excited to see the changes. I'm wearing some clothes I haven't fit in for awhile and things are starting to feel loose. I'm not quite ready to drop a size, but I'm liking that they are feeling loose and fitting better. I have officially dropped below the 250 mark! I'm 5 lbs from being in the 230's!! YAY!! I haven't seen that weight for quite some time and couldn't be happier to see the scale movin on down!

Hope you all are doing well!!

That is my biggest fear....well one of them that is. I worry that I'll slide backwards once I stop taking the drops. Your pounds gone is amazing too!
Moongazer if we are still talking P3........... No hCg in P3 or P4
Or you body can not reset itself i was scared but after reading Janeens P3 thread and doing it with the group of us that started in Oct it was Fantastic
If ya just remember to leave the starch and sugar alone for the 3 weeks of P3 you will do great
Just add food slowly one at a time
Then you discover what your body can not handel
I did not find a whole lot that cause me to gain but a huge list of food I can not eat because my body does not like them like I gueess i am allergic to them
I can not eat cured meats like ham bacon tht is cured stuff like that
I also can not tolerate Cauliflower due to immense gas........ And i have diverticulitis so I can not eat nuts
I am able to eat almond butter and I eat it in celery oh yum
But full Fat Greek Gods Greek yogurt is my P3 favorite
I loved it that I could eat so much good for me food in P3 and not gain was heaven hehe
AND I still did the 4 to 5 big bottles of wter in P3 & P4

Questions I have for p3 are the following:
Are we allowed artificial sweeteners or not?
Are we still allowed the daily 2 fruit servings?
Anyone else having trouble eating so many calories with or without feeling stuffed or guilty?
Anyone else in the 300+ club wondering how many calories to eat daily. (my 11X weight would put me in the 3000+ calories per day range) YIKES!

TIA and thanks for posting your journeys to give us newbies hope!!!
yes to artificial sweeteners but I would test for them because sometimes I have been senitive to certain kinds.

No to the fruit. At least at first. Then I would add them very carefully. I use mostly berries.

The high calorie deal is hard but if you add things like cream or high fat meats you will find it easier.

Just remember that each round as you get thinner your calorie count goes down. LOL enjoy it while you can.

Dare I say, for me, it will never be over but the victory will always remain sweet as long as I don't regain all what was lost, that being my biggest fear, regaining which seams to be what always happened in the past.
My hope is one day I can be where you are and to be inspirational to someone too. Have either if you stopped taking HCG or are you still using it. TIA
Moongazer: Thanks for your sweet words. I didn't want to do all this work and get my hopes up to regain it either. I'll try to answer what I think might be your question: I have been on the HCG 3 times (for long rounds), but I have been on the HCG plan a year. Does that make sense? I have followed the timing, food warnings and all laid out in Pounds and Inches. So I have been on P4 since December 1st, and still am. I have to stay on P4 forever after I reach goal in order not to gain the weight back--doing the same old thing (eating my way) will get me to the same old weight. Even though I will be eligible to start another round of HCG this month, I'm choosing to wait until April to start my 4th and last round of HCG.

OK, to repeat what AlaskaLaydie said, this is just my experience, which may vary greatly from others but have been just as, or more, successful than I have. Take whatever I say with a grain of salt.
On P3, I like the freedom of more sweetners than stevia. Even though I still use it in P3, I also like Splenda for some uses. I was highly sensitive to the laxative effect of xylitol but others love it. Likewise, I like the freedom of more fruits allowed in P3, but like Kandy, berries are so awesome I eat many of those. And as many cherries as I can get my hands on. The caution Simeons uses is "the sweet fruits" which I have seen to mean dried and tropicals.
Uhm, OK, here's the thing with the "keeping the calories up". This has NOT NOT worked for me. I struggled at maintainance when I followed just a 1800-2000 cal a day guideline, much less what you are suggesting. My body still wants to keep me ready for the famine, I guess, and I have to cut the calories down (even lower that what LoseIt! says I should have to) to maintain. But maybe the better advice is to stick to P&I: keep weighing yourself, get enough sleep & fluids, and that's how you'll know your best calorie limit per day. (After all, Dr Simeons didn't need no stinkin iPhone app to count calories.)
I must put forth while I'm at it that the blanket formula to drink X ounces because you multiply your weight times 10 is also garbage. Your body can't process all that fluid. The standard 8-10 glasses (64-80 oz) works just fine.

Thanks so much for telling me this. It's all starting to make sense now....I've been reading as much as I can, well trying to retain as much as my brain can that is. I'm adjusting well and after 15 days I've dropped 10 pounds which is pretty good considering I was on a plateau that seamed never ending. I'm in my mid fifties and really thought there was no hope. So much to look forward to now because this plan has given me hope. Thanks again.

Same here. This protocol - even if it works great - is not easy to follow, so I think it's no wonder that we lose patience sometimes or are really tempted by certain things. I am having a hard time with family members eating junk all around me. Sitting in a car while hubby and son consume some wonderful smelling McDonald's french fries was torture....
But hey, even if we have to dig deep for it, as long as we find that strength/patience, everything is good LOL

I think most people gain before/during TOM. I used to only stall in my first two rounds, this round is the first time I gained.

YES!! And not only before P2: I feel the same at the end of P2, when getting ready to move to P3. Excited and scared at the same time

Allowed yes, but I am very careful with fruit at the beginning of P3. And I definitely stay away from very sweet fruit, like pineapple, etc.

I took the advice of a veteran here on the board who said she never counts calories in P3/P4. I try to eat as "clean" as possible, add new foods one at a time, eat as much as I want to, and that usually works out ok for me.
P3 for me is mainly about adding cheese back into my diet....LOL...I love cheese
Usually I start out with frying meat in butter and sprinkling parmesan cheese onto veggies, such as zucchini or cauliflower. I also use oil in my salad dressings. If everything has gone well, I'll start nibbling on hard cheese (there's a great one at Costco, called "Dubliners", love that cheese, and it works better for me than cheddar etc.) Then I'll try almonds. Then I'll try other cheeses (and usually gain a couple of pounds). Then I spend a few days stabilizing and then try the experiment again. And so on and so on

P3 is a very personal thing. What works for one person, doesn't have to work for another. And even for the same [person, each P3 is different. What worked during R1P3 doesn't necessarily work during R3P3.

I don't measure at all....I just go by the scale results and the way the clothes fit. And yes, isn't it wonderful when you dig out some old clothes that you hadn't been able to wear for ages, and they actually FIT (or are even too big now)??

This protocol has really given me hope, too. I am not a person who can be patient and lose half a pound a week or so. It would be ok to go slow if I had only 10 lbs total to lose, but I (we all) have such a big number to work with, and it helps SO much to get away from those numbers BEFORE implementing any big changes.

This protocol is perfect for me because I can tell myself it's only temporary: It's 40 days, I can do VLCD for 40 days. Then, it's only 3-4 weeks for P3......I can do that, too. That's how I've been getting through the hard patches. One day and one week at a time. And yes, during P4 I do "cheat" a.k.a. overeat, and have gained more than "allowed" both times. But those phases have helped me get into the right mindset for the next P2, so I accept it. I think it's more important not to cheat during P2/P3, so if overeating on Christmas goodies helped me stay on track during P2 in January, that's ok then

(I do have to admit, sometimes I'm a bit angry at myself, because if I had gained just a little bit less, I'd been in Onederland right now....I'm only 3.6 pounds away from it, but probably won't reach it this round....grrrrr. But those feelings pass; I'm generally ok with how everything's been going)

As I've said before, at the moment, I'm only working on getting down to the weight I want to be at. Once I'm there, I'll worry about making permanent changes, exercise, etc. etc.

    Happy losing, everyone

Hi to all! I've enjoyed this forum a lot! I am rather new to the hcg diet but have been dieting on & off for 40 years. I am 5'3" and 58 years old & reached 250# a couple of years ago but refused to get on the scale after that to figure out what the real verdict was. I tried a few fast options like the lemon juice/cayenne pepper/maple syrup fast and was actually at 235# in Sept. 11 when I started on the homeopathic hcg Fusion drops. I lost fairly well & then switched to drops called Vibrational drops that you apparently couldn't build up an immunity to & did those for a few more weeks. I took a 3 week break for Thanksgiving; did the real drops sublingually for 3 weeks and then took another 3 week break over Christmas. I started another round Jan 8th and am currently weighing in at 272 which is 63# down since I've been on hcg. I have another 40+ pounds to lose but am in smaller clothes than I've been in for over 20 years & that feels so good. I am taking a 10 day break this next week and then want to go back and finish the last 14 days of this 40 day round. Then I will need to go on at least a 6 week maintenance round and a few have said that 8 weeks would be better...??? I appreciate your input. I have read some on these forums that T-Tapp exercise is workable while on the hcg; and since I've purchased the dvds I will probably start them on my break and see if I can continue a 15min workout even when I'm back on the drops. I live in northern California and have a great support group here that has helped me. I am noticing sagging underarms and am hoping that time will help and that some of the T-Tapp exercises will help. How have other big losers found the path to dealing with sagging skin? Thanks!!

call it Rogue if you like but I am doing Power90 for this last 2 weeks of P2
I like you mtice77 can not stand the flabby under upper arms and the flabby inner thighs
So even though it has caused me to stall since i started excercizing I am ok with it
I know that sooner or later when my body gets used to the exercize I am doing the scale again will go down
this is me and like i said it is ROGUE but I feel great and have the energy so I am going for it
Will keep u posted........... My BMI is dropping and that is fantastic i say
