Because the next 6 months will pass whether I lose weight or not. I cannot be healthy overnight, but I can look back in 6 months and be thankful I finally started.
Cupidhcg - Congrats on getting compliments, you deserve it. I am down 31#, and I don't see any changes in my clothes, though my skin is definitely not as tight, if I didn't crow about it, nobody would even notice it. Next round will make a bigger impact. I think some people will want to know more and then there are always those who will be critical, just be selective who you share your info with, making sure that they are supporters and not just people who will see everything wrong all the time. Good for you, you have come so far!

Jayy, seems like everyone is leaving us!
Life is good... Had some gluten yesterday, but really just a smidgen. Not too worried. Will cook in a sec, all nice and paleo over here. If my scale isn't lying, I am way below LDW again... As long as I am still losing 2-3lbs a week on paleo, I am happy staying on it. When I stop losing, I might be back to hcg. I gotta stop weighing daily, though, and switch to weekly... Will make. Ot obsessing about weight easier. So Saturdays it is now... and I think I astable enough to not suddenly need a correction day.
Hi everyone! I have been laying low the last couple of days P3 is kicking my butt so to speak. I guess I am stabilizing okay, did have quite a few bounce arounds though 213.2 was my LIW and I have gone down to 211 and then back up to 213.4 started to get worried but back down today to 213 even. I wish I was losing in P3 kind of discouraged by it all actually. I have a confession to make..... I LOATHE cooking...... I use to eat out as much as possible hence the need for HCG and lately I feel like all I ever do is cook..... cook breakfast, cook lunch, cook dinner. I am trying new recipes from the P3 forum and can I just complain a bit more some of the recipes SUCK. I tried to make a couple of things and either I am the worlds worst cook (which is highly probable) or the measurements are wrong on some of them bad boys.
Not only that but since we have incorporated the no Sugar/Starch for my 15 year old (which she has lost about 10lbs so far) she was asking for me to make some of the approved P3 recipes like Cocoa Crack and Mug Cake, both of which I failed to make correctly sigh..... There is nothing like feeling like a complete failure in the kitchen especially when you would rather have a root canal than be cooking anyway. About the only thing I am getting good at making is breakfast I mean I guess I can fry an egg up pretty good and as long as I bake my bacon I do good. Then there is the whole cleaning up after you cook which when trying new recipes I feel like a crazy mad woman running around and then I somehow find a way to use every pot, pan and utensil in the kitchen so spend another 30 min cleaning up after myself. Did I mention how many eggs some of those recipes call for? Okay I think I have vented enough for now....
Hon, I was 100% no-cook before paleo.... I am struggling more this time around, too - just not enough time to cook that much. But. My savior is the slow cooker! Throw in cauliflower, some broth, spices, and veal at night, and you have food in the morning. Vary the veggies and meat... I do a lot of chicken and beef, too. Oh, I also have a Flavorwave oven, which means I can do quick salmon etc, too - no pan involved. And if in question, I do a lot of raw veggies - ground beef on lettuce, for example. My ideal breakfast is either avocado or whatever the slow cooker made overnight.
I really want to get a sous vide soon.... but first I need a new fridge. and need to renovate my apartment. Paint, redecorate, get rid of some furniture.... throw out stuff. Right now, my place is a mess. In an ideal world, I will have it done in a month, but not sure I will make it in time for David's visit. If he visits. He is incommunicado again. For only 5 days, but enough to drive me nuts again. Guys.
Hi all,
Well, I have been MIA because I am completely distracted by online guy, Ryan. He is so wonderful. It's been 12 days, and I am falling hard. I was describing him/us to my cousin and she burst out "oh my god, you're in love!", which made me freak out a bit...I am sticking with "smitten" for the time being. It has been fast and intense, but he is so communicative, tender, and able to talk about his feelings that it seems we have a relationship check-in every time we are together, which is comforting.
My P3 is still moving along well. My scale batteries died this week and I kept forgetting to go get some replacements, so I ended up not weighing for 4 days. It was so nice!! I am now wondering if I should only weigh a few times a week, but then I also know that is my slippery slope to stop weighing altogether and eventually start avoiding the scale like the plague. I am down to 204.3 which is about 2.5# below LDW in two weeks of P3. Still wishing to lose more in P3, but I have had some off-protocol meals and some alcohol, so I am just happy the scale is moving at all.
histeacher - I hear you on the cooking. I would definitely recommend bypassing the forum recipes and start searching for some good recipe websites. I have never had much luck with recipes on here either. And, go buy some spices, vinegars, and other fancy cooking ingredients. I love that I can put together asian pork or morrocon meatballs or some flavorful food really quick by keeping my spices well stocked. Even if you don't want to go full Paleo, I highly recommend Well Fed cookbook...she has some amazingly flavorful recipes that so far have been really simple, but I agree...I hate all the dishes. Maybe your daughters could join you in cooking to add some company and so they can learn with you?
Today I have to do about a week's worth of homework to finish up my current class. All I want to do is make out with Ryan and watch the Hunger Games on DVD!I'm so distracted!!! haha!!

Hello everyone! Just thought I would check in. Made it to 215, and am very happy! I am going to make my next goal a less than 30 BMI, so I can go from "obese" to just "overweight". I don't put any stock in BMI's, they are a crock, but makes for good goals! After leaving "obese" I will be looking forward to "one"derland!
Very exciting!
Just wanted to put in my .02 about cooking.
Caz, you are right about the great recipes in Well Fed, but I think Melissa's recipes are pretty advanced (I have been cooking most my life, and trying fancy things, and some of her stuff is hard to do at best!). I would suggest visiting http://www.wellnessmama.com. She has a lot of great and easy recipes. histeacher, it's tough when you don't like to cook, but taking the time to conquer this monster will serve you and your family in the end. As far as the cleaning up goes, remember the first rule of the kitchen: "clean as you go". That way you don't have a sinkful of dishes staring you in the face when the meal is done.
Good luck!

Hi girlies. I fell off the p2 wagon lol. I keep slipping back into p3/my usual eating.
I might give up on the p2 for a while and just do some p2 style eating a few days each week (as in, almost zero carb, but more than 500cals). I lose well that way.
The scales aren't being nice to me, in fact they say I've gained! But I know I haven't, some clothes are fitting looser and my back fat is looking slimmer than ever. I think it's because I haven't been being low carb and my last weigh in was when I was very low carb so I would've had all my glycogen/water stores empty.
I'm really really hungry these last few days. I'm sticking to primal but god I am putting food away! I'm really not sure why. Like 2 hours ago I ate 160g chicken breast stuffed with almond butter, 2 fried eggs, a tonne of broccoli, and a raspberry/blackberry smoothie... and I'm hungry already! Only 2 hours!
This has happened to me before though and then it passed within a few days so hopefully I'm almost over the hump, as I was ravenous yesterday too (I ate 2 dinners!). Being so hungry is expensive hahahaha
