I started the injections 7 days ago (1/31), loaded for 2 days and today is my 6th day of VLCD. In a week I am down 8.2 pounds and couldn't be happier. My goal is to lose 30.
People at work haven't made any comments and only 2 very close friends even know I am doing this. I too think doing this as a group would be great support!

BTW - does anyone know where to put the weight tracker url in your profile?
Go to your weight tracker site and copy the bb code. Come back here and go to settings. On the left in blue you'll see "edit your signature." Paste the bb code there, and you should be good to go!

It may have been carb withdrawal or something, but it may have also been psychological (I have been excited to start this, but very nervous!). I gained 2 pounds during my load and have already lost it (and a little more). I am pleased to not feel hungry--taking sublingual made me really worry about getting the dose correct.
My biggest struggle is going to be around socializing. I have a long standing lunch meeting next week, and I attend a monthly meeting that centers around food. I am going to have to find creative ways to deal with this. I don't want anyone but my husband to know I am doing the protocol--I am in the health field and most of my colleagues would be strongly against it. I don't want to deal with other people's negativity!
How are others doing so far?
I hear ya on not wanting other people to know about the protocol! However, for the short amount of time you're doing this, would it be worth it to follow protocol and say you're just trying to eat healthier/not feeling well/mind your own business? JK on the last part obviously. Or eat high protein, no carb? There are always plenty of options, even if you just take the cheat and cut your losses! Do what you need to do, and we'll be here to support you.

Edited to add: Did you name yourself after a cat? Or a Goddess? Both? I love Amelia Peabody.

Bastet - I had a really hard time on the first 3 days of the VLCD. After talking to my doctor she thought it was best to up my dosage from .125 to .150 and I am feeling much better.

    Week 2 - Down 5.9

    Hi all,
I'm Karen, 52 yrs old, starting at 274#, and will be doing 150iu sq injections. Plan to do 40 injections on the skip-one-day a week plan, so P1 - P3 will take 49 days. I have all my supplies, except the hCG. Not-so-patiently awaiting it's arrival, so hope to be a part of this group very soon.
This is my 1st time trying hCG, but I have lost this weight numerous times. The last time, I went from 310 to 178 following a low carb diet in 07-08, but then menopause hit and I couldn't stop the regain the past 4 years. Nothing I tried worked. But around 6 months ago I began hrt to address my whack hormones, and I think it's taken that long for them to get me to the point where I can lose again. I've managed to lose 16 pounds in the month of January. So now that I finally got the scale moving in the right direction again, I'm especially excited to see the rapid losses I'm hoping the hCG will bring.
I'm also diabetic, and am interested to see how much this will improve my blood sugars.
Hoping to connect with other women of similar size and health issues... let's buddy up! Good luck to all.

Good Morning All and welcome Karen! I am new to this as well and have been on the injections starting 1/31. I am down 8.2 in a week. I started with .125 and was starving the first 5 days of the injections so my doctor increased to .150 which has helped a lot. She also has me on a 28 day detox program with vitamin B12 drops. I feel really good on this and have been losing between .5 and 1 pound each day until this morning. I was up .2 and totally freaked out. I have a call into her to see what is up. I checked my food log and have been eating the same stuff for over a week now with no variation. The only thing different was I added 1/4 cup of fire roasted tomatoes to my fish. They only had 2 grams of sugar and I counted them into my food log. I had it the day before when I lost 3/4 of a pound and then yesterday a lunch. I could understand a stall but it's a bit early for that. Plus forr some strange reason I had that starving feeling again yesterday even though I ended my day at 475 calories. Has anyone else seen a small gain like this? Any advice?

First of all, see if you can relax. Stress is no good. If your Dr. is ok with it, you might try skipping an injection. This is what one of the moderators suggests. If you are MORE hungry when you skip, your dose might still be a little low. If you're hunger lessens that day, then you might be taking just a little bit too much. Again, I don't want to get between you and your Dr., but some people have to adjust their dose just right. This round I am taking 175 i.u. and a skip day (skip injection, but continue low calorie diet.) Skipping is also recommended if you're doing a longer round. This seems to work very well for me. Just keep an eye on how you're feeling without getting all "up in your grill" when it's not going perfectly. Hope you get this resolved soon!

So, I haven't been on in a few days because I've been slammed at work. I finished my loading perios and today is my second day in phase 2. I gained 3 lbs during the load but lost 3.2 on my first day on the VLSD so I'm pretty hopeful. I hope everyone else is having good results!

    Goal: 135llbs SSG: 125lbs
