Slenderella, Magnet and Abby - I appreciate your thoughts. I think a safe haven is still in Grammy's lifetime stabilizers thread in grammie's groupies. I will still be checking in and posting about the leptin reset/paleo lifestyle there. Hope you will check in and visit! Appreciate your kind words.
After 2 rounds of hcg, I'm at goal, living the life of Mrs. Grok!
For maintenance, I highly recommend the leptin reset, coupled with a paleo/primal outlook on life!

Things have gotten out of hand within the Leptin Diet forum. This was not the intention of why I created this particular subforum.

Fight and arguing will no longer be tolerated within this thread or on the forum in any place. I was not made aware of the issue happening within these threads until it was too late and the damage was already done.

Things happened, a valuable member of the board was lost but lets move on. Any negative discussion from here on will be addressed and members will start receiving infractions and possible cooling off periods from the forum.

This is not a warning, it is a requirement. If you can't play nice I will take action.

NOTE: If you see any form of fighting/arguing/harassment within this forum in any thread please use the 'Report Post' button located in the gray bar below each post. You can then file a complaint that will send an email directly to my personal email inbox as well as that of the moderators.

Me along with the moderators simply cannot keep track of every single post happening on the forum so I am hoping that you can see the value of the 'Report Post' button as sort of a 911 number. Just like you would call the police in real life when an emergency happens you can use this to also notify the appropriate people of the issue.

Likewise, at any time you are free to send me or any of the moderators (designated by their name in purple) a private message. You can send me a PM directly by clicking on the link in my signature below each post that I have on the forum.

I'll be on the lookout for your progress notes on Grammy's forum. Thank you for sharing your journey (and what you do for a living - fascinating).

I just found this thread today and skimmed through the whole thing. I plan to do the Leptin reset when I finish this round. For about three years before I started HCG, I followed a lot of the Leptin reset plan - BAB, low carbs all day, lots of coconut oil, no aerobic exercise - and it STOPPED MY WEIGHT GAIN and allowed me to stabilize during those three years.

I started eating like that because of inflammation. I've never been told that I have a "leaky gut", but I do know that my stomach empties so quickly that you could actually hear it gurgling as it empties. My MD called it "fast oxidation."

Fruit causes problems for me so I compensate with lemonade (vitamin C capsule opened into a glass of water + Stevia) or fruit-flavored whey protein shake mix made with Stevia and mixed with water. That saves a lot of carbs, but not eating starchy carbs - bread, potatoes - makes me crave salt so I put more salt on my food than I would just for taste. (Before anybody attacks me: NO, salt doesn't cause edema or high BP for me.)

The only part of the reset that will be hard for me is not eating right before bed. My stomach empties so quickly that I can't sleep through the night unless I eat before bed and have to put a little cream in my coffee even tho' I prefer it black. Before bed, I prefer eating something milky like a whey protein shake, yogurt with ground flax seed or hard cheese. But I'll try to find enough time to prepare and eat a big enough dinner (>100 g protein) for me to sleep through the night, and see how that goes.

I had a blood sugar check reading last Wednesday morning by the nurse at work and she told me that the teaspoon of milk that I put in my morning coffee counted as a meal and the reading under 140 was OK. Geez, that's less than 1 carb! I'll try again next Wednesday with black coffee and see what the reading is; hopefully under 90. They're testing every Wednesday this month. By the 30th I can see what it is after a Leptin reset BAB.

I've never heard of that condition with your stomach. Not eating for 4-5 hours before bed is critical to the reset. If you try the big dinner, but find you can't go without eating before bed, why not ask Dr. Kruse what he recommends on his site? He often answers questions in the comment section at the end of each blog. This would be a good one to ask on: http://jackkruse.com/the-leptin-rx-faqs/
Make the question as short and concise as you can, he's more likely to answer that way.

    Hey There Dear One!

I am in Week 9 of Leptin Reset which will not likely fully occur until I have my hormones dealt with & finish up my final go through HCG with my R3P2 starting on 11/13, but that should be soon & coming as my bunches & bunches of test results come in, my doctor advises & I bring my results on this thread for the amazingly knowledgeable input I will surely receive. I have had an extremely rough go during the first few weeks of my LR but you know how dogged I am and I am feeling some degree of success as I can finally say I have been stable for the last 2 weeks. Be encouraged, Dear LadyA, & be determined.

    Blessings, Love & Hugs shelia

At your age (17, right) it's likely only thyroid and maybe progesterone that needs a little tweaking. And you are doing more hcg rounds, correct? That's why I said to do a steak day. I never recommend just sticking with the leptin reset in between rounds if you're gaining because it's more important not to regain in between rounds. At least it is for me.
What if you are finished with HCG and have reached your goal weight? Do you do a steak day on leptin reset or just continue eating LR for the 6-8 weeks?

I gained back 15lb over 3 months, until I went on thyroid meds and bio identical hormones. When I went on the reset, I lost 12 of those pounds.

What are bio identical hormones and how do you test?

Suzanne Somers' book Ageless is very informative about bio-identical hormones. A doctor prescribes them after lab testing.

I've only posted a couple of times on this site and am very glad to have found it! I see this thread hasn't been active for a while, but I hope someone will respond.

I've done 3 rounds of the HCG Protocol so far and have lost about 45 pounds, but have had trouble stabilizing in P4 the last 2 rounds. I have been doing steak days with limited success and switched to trying high protein days, again with success some days and not others. I'm now fluctuating between 4-6 pounds above LDW.

I was planning on doing another round in February, but would like to know if I should try the Leptin Reset now and try to get back to my LDW before starting another round or if I should just do another round and follow this during P3. How long are you supposed to follow the Leptin Reset method for?

    Thank you.
