Honestly, I don't know. It's worth a try though if you want to experiment. It would be close to the leptin reset.
Hi there,
I have heard Grammy tell people when you are insulin resistant that you may try cutting a fruit and adding a 100 cal (3.5oz) of protein. Also, that knowing what she knows about leptin she would eat breakfast and dinner during p2 instead of lunch and dinner.
In this scenario, DURING P2, would there be any advantage to eating your BAB made up of 7oz (50g) protein and veggie at breakfast, apple at lunch if hungry, extra 100 cal (3.5oz) protein and veggie at dinner (plus apple if not eaten mid day)???
Has anyone done this? What are your thoughts??
Thanks!![]()

Thanks for the response Grammy. Do you think there is any reason you would not want to do it? It would seem it might solve hunger issues for many people since those who eat a BAB say they are not hungry till dinner. Unless the fat content is helping that more than the protein. I know some people don't lose right off when becoming leptin resistant and that losing weight is not the purpose when trying to reset leptin. Does that mean they contraindicate eachother?? Or could it be that it is an advantage starting the process in P2 and you are that much ahead of the game when you come out??
If I were doing another round, I would try it. But then I've done 5 rounds and know how I should be losing so I would know if it was working the same or worse. This is your first round? That's the only issue.

No this is not my first. I did 3 rounds and came within about 10 pounds of my ultimate goal weight. I maintained that for a year. I always averaged .5 to .68 on all rounds, with the highest in the first round. I had no problem maintaining after rounds. I had the perfect storm of family, work, and health issues come together and went completely and utterly off track. Went back to old patterns for comfort and gained it all back. I now know 3 things. #1- I can take it off. #2- I can maintain fairly easily if I do what I am supposed to. #3- the weight WILL come back FAST if you are not diligent. So here I go again, but wonder if this could help things all the way around?
Okay then I would totally try it.![]()

that's what I did for my P2 starting on about day 10. I immediately had less hunger, less cravings, and most importantly less lethargy throughout p2
breakfast was never quite 50g of protein though
R2: 5.3.12...
But how did you lose? That's the big question. LOL And are you maintaining all right?

my reasons for changing my meals around wasn't about losses or resetting, i just needed the morning energy for class.
i lost an average of .5 a day every day until day 40 when I stalled for the first time
i'll be going into p3 within a week
note: i changed nothing about the protocol but the timing of my meals

I knew you were on protocol with food but i wondered if eating in the morning changed losses. Good to know it didn't!
