Already using IM HCG, Will HCG diet work for me?

Hi, I am currently taking HCG by intramuscular injection twice per week (1000 units each time) to treat low testosterone. I have been reading lots about the HCG diet and wanted to try it. (have tried weight watchers with limited success). I was curious if I changed to s/c injections (and lower dose) if this diet would work for me?

It will work for weight loss but I don't know how changing the dose will affect your testosterone levels.

My levels were low normal but I was symptomatic with them... My endocronologist put me on IM HCG to raise levels without effecting fertility as my wife and I are TTC. I was going to re-check my levels after I finish the 40 days of treatment and see how they are.

Limited knowledge on this, but my first thoughts. If you need 2000iu a week for optimal testosterone increase (for fertility purposes), then a daily injection of, say, 150iu isn't going to stimulate your testes enough for growth/fertility. And I would [I]think[I] that eating 500 calories a day on a dosage of around 300iu a day would have the side effect of terrible hunger.

If this is an ongoing regime and you have already had your dosage lowered from 3 1000iu IM 3x week (typical starting point), and had success with that testicular growth and increased sperm count, then maybe you could talk with your endo and see what he/she thinks of a therapeutic adjustment of lowering your regime to 1500iu for (daily 214iu) as a trial; if sperm production doesn't decrease for a few months (checking levels monthly), then perhaps a trial of 1000iu (142iu daily). But I would honestly be afraid of compromising your primary goal of testicular growth for fertility.

Have you ever talked about this with your endo?

Thanks for your response. I go to see the endocronologist in March and will discuss with him then. My sperm count was actually really good so I wasn't put on HCG for that reason. The endo actually didn't want to treat my testosterone levels but I convinced him to at least try raising the levels... I figured I could try the diet with a dose of 150 to 200 s/c daily and if I feel terrible them I could stop... Losing weight will help lower estrogen levels which will help with testosterone levels

How about injections of test-cyp, or maybe transdermal test patches? If your fertility is ok, then it seems that raising test levels would be easier just by supplementing the test. Then you could do whatever you wanted with levels of hCG?

The endo was concerned that trying straight T replacement would shut down my reproductive system.... I have about 100 pds to lose and really think this diet would be a good way to start

Any thoughts on me staying on the IM dose and just adding the SC dose?

You don't know much about the hcg diet, GFA. You lose weight without losing muscle and hitting the gym doesn't work for most of us. We've tried that many times.
