Also, in regards to the Fruit on the HCG Diet, yes the Apples and the Oranges will slow the Ketosis process and in some ways may slow weight loss but they will not totally negate the Ketosis process. Personally, I recommend just Grapefruit and Strawberries and even then only in moderation once every other day as long as you take a good high quality multivitamin supplement to accommodate for the lost vitamins.

The bread stick or Melba toast have no nutritional value on the diet and are just to make you feel less deprived. I cut those out all together too!

Just remember to eat the full portion of protein and vegetables. Also, most people have a tendency to underestimate their vegetable portion sizes, especially with Lettuce. You can eat quite a bit of Lettuce around 2-4 cups easily.

You want to make sure you do not get too few calories as this can force your body into Starvation Mode despite the benefits of HCG and Ketosis.

    Just FYI!

I suspected I might have been in ketosis while on both rounds of ph2 not only by many of the symptoms you listed, but because of the distinct body odor that I only have while on the hhcg drops. In my second round I tested with ketostix, and showed a moderate amount of ketosis. The idea of stored glucose sounds like possibly why the test did not show higher amounts. I am wondering why in ph 3 as I am still not eating much carbs I don't seem to be burning fat. Urine test show very little to no ketosis. I know I must be getting some carbs from what I eat, but compared to what I used to consume, I would consider myself to be on a very low carb diet even with the ph 3 foods I am adding. I am not trying to lose in this phase, but I wonder what I would have to eat to lose with an Atkins type diet after doing hhcg. I have always consumed a lot of carbs and sweets, and I am open to a low carb lifestyle for managing my weight. I do love the way hhcg burns fat, suppresses appetite, and causes reshaping, but I can't live on hhcg. I want to keep this thin feeling and will be very careful as I move into ph4 not to eat bloating foods. This is a very interesting subject.

I guess everyone is different on this -- and I wonder if each round is different too? I was one of those who did show ketones on the test strips. I get the (cheap) walmart test strips and soon after starting P2 in my first round, I got positive results, after about a week or so I was up in the dark zones (places I've never been before). It stayed that way until the first couple of days of P3 when I stopped testing positive. Kind of weird because under normal conditions of low carb diets, I DO show positive. However, in P3, I was still eating an apple or strawberries each day, so I guess it makes sense.

I am always in the moderate to the highest level of ketosis while on p2.
Interesting how everyone is different and some don't show they are
    in ketosis.

Brando, everything you said actually makes perfect sense for hcg dieting.

Wondering how long ago you lost weight and if you had trouble stabilizing? I went to check your blog and it was a bunch of ads for the HCG you're selling. Would be nice if you were actually blogging and maybe just had you daily ad specials off to the side. I quit looking after the first page since only one posting was not all trying to sell a product.

R1P2 started 6-30-11 85 days long with a loss of 39.2 pounds. Yes, I had a couple of cheats but got back on the horse!
R1P3 started 9-24-11 Maintained 5 pounds below LDW
R2P2 started 11-1 3 load days since I messed up taking my drops while out of town. Gained 1 pound
