I know lemon juice is allowed, but they usually say juice of a lemon... not sure about that either, but I love lemons and usually just buy a bag of them so we always have some laying around. As for spices, any spice is ok, when you start looking at your blends of spices check the ingredients for sugar and starch bc they often add it into spice blends you wouldnt expect (like montreal steak) Mrs. Dash makes some really great blends that are sugaaar free and salt free. As for Broccoli its not on the original Dr. S protocol. I think I recall reading that the foods on the list are low in calories/ sugar but are high in fiber amino acids enzymes etc... to keep flushing the fat from your body these are the foods that do that. There are alternative food lists etc... from experience personally/ I did the HCG through a clinic first round. They had a varied food list with more veggie options, and had me drinking 3 protein drinks a day along with consuming 750 calories. I did lose weight, however I feel I would have lost MORE weight had I followed the original protocol. so here I am ready for R2 and this time Im following # and " all the way!
