March 8th, 2010, 07:04 AM #1 Is my Very dry skin due to HCG?...I normally have dry skin anyway, especially in the winter...Ive noticed after not using my lotions after showering my hands are paticularly very dry....They are red, like they are sunburned and chappy, like a Psoriasis type thing...And it looks like i have a slight rash on my arms...Anyone know what might be the problem? I need a VERY GOOD LOTION that I can use during P2....Any suggestions?...Thanks again
P.S....I have been using baby lotion, but that doesn't help at all...It almost makes it worse!

March 8th, 2010, 07:11 AM #2 I just woke up this morning with a patchy dry rash behind both my ears... and was about to post the same question.
Is it possible to have an allergic type reaction to the HCG... doing the injections, day 10, first round, following to the letter the VLCD, gained 5 on the loading days and am now down 5 from my preload weight. Am releasing about 1# a day. 3 lts of water a day also.
What about the brittle nails and rash?
Thanks so much.

March 8th, 2010, 07:30 AM #3 No, it's a reaction to the lack of good oils in our bodies. I get the patchyness on my elbows.
The only thing I've been able to do is lather baby oil on after a shower. I do it before I dry off. It seems to help, although it doesn't completely take away the dryness, it does make it bearable. I do use Curiel lotion. I'm too lazy to go upstairs right now and get it (plus my 4 year old grandson is visiting and I don't DARE leave him alone.......oh my gosh soooooooo much energy and how quickly they get into things LOL)
But there is one that doesn't have any oils in it and it helps. I use it about every other day.

March 8th, 2010, 08:41 AM #9 It's called Curel Continuous Comfort. Fragrance free, moisture lotion for dry skin with timne-released moisturizers.
It's a blue bottle with green writing. They have another one that you can't use so make sure you read the ingredients!
