    Supplements??

I am posting this thread to see what supplements everyone is taking while on the HCG diet.
Personally, I am taking 5-htp, a fat burner, multivitamins, Fish oil, and CLA.

My doctor said to stay away from fish oil as it is an oil that is absorbed by the body and we aren't supposed to be adding fat to our bodies, but letting our body burn the fat that we have. I suspect that taking the fish oil will slow your weight loss.

My doctor has me on a 5HTP mixture and I take a multi-vitamin only each day.

I also had to stop taking my Krill Oil (for my eyes) and Vit E after reading many of the posts here. I was losing really slowly but it seems to have picked up a little since stopping.

I stopped taking fish oil while on the hcg, and switched from vitamin and calcium softgels to tablets. I didn't dare stop them altogether because I have osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis). Anyway, since I've been in P3 I have resumed all my usual supplements, including fish oil and CLA. I take several herbal supplements like resveratrol and "women's health" type things, plus probiotics and digestive enzymes. So far, (day 8) I'm 3 lbs. below LDW. I know I need more calories, and I'm working on it.

Thanks for this post. I was hoping there would be more replies about supplements while on HCG. I'm thinking of adding 5-HTP to my daily food-based multivitamin and sublingual b complex.

Is cellulose okay? My multivitamin has cellulose among the first few ingredients- I'm guessing as a binder since it is a tablet and not a capsule. Is that okay?

People on 5-HTP, do you take pills or liquid and do you have a reasoning for your choice?

    Thanks!

Why are you taking 5-HTP? What does it do for you?

I have stopped taking my multivitamin because of what the "HCG" book that came with my drops told me to do. I have been feeling light headed and loss of energy. I feel better that there are others out there that are taking a multivitamin.

    Thanks Everyone!

    I'll contribute the necro thread.

I usually take a multivitamin, omega-3, and VitD drops daily.

My ND told me explicitly to drop the Omega-3 and VitD. No fat-containing/suspended supplements allowed. During the diet I'm to double the multivitamin, add two B complex, and have a 1/4tsp of scorbatate powder in water (potassium, chromium, and other minerals) daily.
