Thread: is a woman more fertile (increased chance of getting pregnant?) while on HCG?

  1. #1

is a woman more fertile (increased chance of getting pregnant?) while on HCG?

I am taking Rx HCG drops. Do they make a woman more fertile? I have heard yes and I have heard no....I did a quick search here but didn't find any thread titles that indicated this exact same question, although I am sure it has been asked before.

Also, if I took a home pregnancy test while taking HCG, will I get a false positive?

    Thanks!

I lied. I can't find it and I'm short on time. It's addressed in the manuscript. I seem to recall that it said there was a greater chance but I'm not 100% sure on that. I Did see how ever that oral contraceptives are acceptable. Manuscript was written so long ago that many of the newer forms were probably not even in consideration.

He doesn't say it raises your risk of pregnancy but he does say it's not uncommon for a woman to become pregnant while on the protocol. In the more than 2 years I've been reading the forum, I've seen it happen to 3 women of the thousands who have come through here. So it does happen on occasion.

    thank you for the responses!

I am sure I could get pregnant, just like if I was NOT on HCG. I am wondering if HCG increases fertility. Hmmm...

also, if I take a home pregnancy test right now (after being on HCG two weeks) will I show a false positive?

If you are on birth control, is pregnancy a possibility? I REALLY don't want to get pregnant. I'm on the Depo shot. I don't have a TOM, but there has been some *very* light TOM, which I really don't and shouldn't have.

I got pregnant on birth control pills. Your odds of getting pregnant on birth control is better than your odds of winning the lottery. Dang, I'm gonna go buy some tickets, I think I deserve to win that lottery!

If you are on RX, you might show a very faint positive. If it's darkly positive though, you would be pregnant.

We've had quite a few here on the Depo shot with no problems.
