    Angry Changes to body chemistry?

I was just wondering if we experience changes to our body chemistry after using Hcg. I am on P4 of my 2nd round and am gaining even though I am still eatting P3. It seems that if I have a sauce with some sugar in it or a bit of rice I can gain 4 pounds overnight. I know the experts will say that is because I am insulin resistant but I have been weighing daily for years and until I used Hcg and I know that did not happen.
My thought is that I have somehow changed my body by using Hcg and have become "carb-sensitive" I do not eat breads, pastas, pastries, cookies etc. I am talking about a terriyaki sauce or a 1/2 cup of rice once in a while. I could understand if I was scoffing down bowls of ice cream or bags of potato chips. I don't mean that. I mean just having a small amount of sugar or carb and packing on the pounds. Also, I find that I cannot follow even an Atkins OWL type lifestyle without gaining. I should be able to eat beans or nuts without gaining weight if I am not eatting any carbs, shouldn't I?
I will have to do another round of Hcg to bring me to a "normal" BMI but why is this the only way I can lose weight now? I know the whole calories in calories out thing doesn't work but I should be able to eat low carb and exercise and drop a couple pounds, no?
I was just wondering is anyone else is experiencing this and if they think it's the Hcg or the old standby excuse of "insulin resistance" given to me by the experts.

your body chemistry has pretty much reverted to it's ancestral state. You are now only able to eat foods that are actually designed for you as a human to consume. Corn, rice, grains, sugary foods made from sugar cane and sweeteners made from chemicals were not designed to do so.
At first I was unable to eat even fruit in my P4. I was pretty pissed off and ate it anyway. Four lbs later my weight finally said "okay im not reacting anymore" and stabilized. I also started exercising so that may have helped.
Try accepting the gain and not correcting if you're brave! Your weight will probably stabilize. Four lbs overnight is water. It's your body's way of coping with the shock of food not designed for it. Your situation is optimal to start a primal diet now without the hassle of withdrawals and you'd benefit immensely from it but it's entirely up to you.

Lorigirl- I can eat any food now without gaining but I am eating 1200 to 1500 cal and working out like a maniac. I can't lose weight and it's seriously maddening! I want to lose 25 pounds. I am at a size now where I don't look fat anymore, just want my tummy and thighs smaller. Did u have the same gaining issues after your first round? I am scared that if I do a round 2 I might have the same probs you are having. I would rather hold this weight than do another round to get thinner and suffer the food problems. Let me know. It's so hard to decide if another round is worth it. I feel lucky I can eat most foods now.

Caligirl, I stabilized pretty easily my first round but starting straying away from healthier eatting and adding a few carbs here and there. That's what really started me thinking. I always made good choices, mostly protein and vegetable even out at restaurants but if I were to have rice or a roll or a touch of dessert I would gain 3 pounds overnight. I began to get frustrated but I figured I needed a second round anyway so I wound up letting it go until I gainned back 10 pounds. So I began round 2 12 pounds above round 1's LDW. I was already in the hole 12 pounds! I eat very well but if I add a bit of carb in any form I gain 2,3 sometimes 4 pounds. Even if I do a steak day and lose some of it, some of it stays on to become my new weight. I just don't get it. I don't know if I would do another round if I were you. If you are eatting most foods and not gainning I think I might stay where I was. I am sick of steak days and stressing the scales. I don't enjoy going out to dinner anymore because even if I eat well I know I will be up the next day. I still need a round 3 because of the weight I gainned back after round 1 but I am fighting every day not to let the weight creep up so I continue to do steak days and correction days and eat P3. I don't even have fruit most days because I am afraid it will cause a gain. I seem to be sensitive to just about everything, cheese, nuts, artificial sweetners. I can't even eat Atkins bars because they seem to make me gain. What is that all about? That's why I say I think my body chemistry has been altered in some way. Sorry if this is such a downer post. I don't know if the loss has been worth the final result. I would just like to eat like a "normal" person again. I don't mean potato chips and ice cream but should I stress over having a dish that has a bed of rice? Why can't I have a sandwich like a regular person? I just don't know the answer, hence this post. Has Hcg altered my body chemistry in some way?

Thanks for the response loriegirl. I'm sorry you are struggling. I wouldn't wish that one anyone. I had a weight spike with almonds and also a big one with peanut butter but I waited and tried them again later and since have had no problems. Do you by chance have polycystic ovaries? I do and that can make you really carb sensitive. Just a thought. My ovaries are controlled by depo provera and that makes me insulin resistant also, but it seems if I eat low glycemic I do well maintaining. Losing is the hard part. Losing was a struggle before HCG too though, so that is what brought me to round 1. It is hard to just eat well and exercise and wait for the last 25 pounds to come off when I know I can make them go away before the end of next month. I think I am going to go for it and do a round 2 (a 40 day round 2...sigh). I can't quit envying everyone still in the forums losing weight so quickly. If I hit my goal I can actually buy some clothes and know that they will fit for life. Right now my closet is bare because I know I have no intention of staying this size. I just don't want to wait forever to go shopping! You mentioned you need to do a round 3. Any set date for that yet? I might start loading next week sometime, maybe the 12th or the 15th.

Hi Caligirl, No, no policystic ovaries but thanks for the info. I am not set on a round 3 date yet. I always do my rounds with my DIL and she is not ready yet. I am trying exercise right now to at least keep me under the dreaded 140. I am still creeping up in weight, back and forth to 140 and 138. I haven't seen my LDW since the day I stopped my drops. When I get above the 140 I do a steak day. I am really careful in what I eat. I am so tired of stressing the scale.
Best of luck on your loading and your P2. I wish I was joining you in that. Keep me posted on your progress. Lorie
