    Calorie count for approved protocol foods on VLCD

    I am on Day 7 (day 5 of VLCD) and down 9 pounds from 1st VLCD. I am doing the protocol exactly as outlined. No deviations.

    I put together a list that is helping me a great deal. These are directly from a health site online. If I have made any mistakes would love to know.

    3.5 oz of beef - 150 - 200 cal
    3.5 oz of chicken - 100 cal
    3.5 oz of shrimp - 100 cal
    3.5 oz of crab - 100 cal
    3.5 oz of talapea - 90 cal

    Asparagas - 1 cup 36 oz
    Lettuce - 1 cup 8 cal
    Spinach - 14 cal per cup
    Cucumber - 30 cal per cucumber
    Radishes - 1 cup sliced - 20 cal
    Tomatoes -30 calories

    Melba toast - 12
    Grazzini Bread Stick - 20

    Apple - 100 - 110 per apple
    Orange - 75 cal per
    Strawberries - 50 cal per cup
    Grapefruit - 40 cal per half

    There is an awesome Excel program on here that you can download. Think it is under newbie section? But it does everything for you. Plus it goes up to 3 rounds.

    Interesting for reference. Thanks for sharing. I never counted calories only measured portions, but it's interesting to see the calories.

    Love this list you made. I was looking for something simple & this is it. It's not about taste or preparation for me, just sustenance & getting my minimal calories in without guesswork. Thank you!

    You don't need to count calories when eating on protocol

    Round 1 ended 3/25 30
    Round 2 ended 6/27 26
    LDW 185.8

    8/17 started high fat/adequate protein/low carb diet (nutritional ketosis):
    Starting weight: 185.4
    11/19 168.6
