We stayed at hotels for years and I know that they put the fear into you to NEVER leave the resorts but it is such a nice area and we have learnt so much and met so many great people. We will do the resorts but only on a day pass (which if you rent, you could also do..we just did the day pass at Hard Rock Punta Cana Hotel and it was fun). HA - that's my neighborhood! If you are looking to rent...I would recommend going through Todd Williams with Reliable Realty. Tell him I sent you (they are friends of ours & take care of our place when we aren't here). I am in Palm Suites and they have a rental that sleeps 6 ( 2 rooms with a queen in each as well + loft room with a pull out). It's a 2 level unit and beautiful. They are from Michigan and are great people. I think that this area is fantastic. We are within walking distance from all the restaurants you mentioned (Pulpo Cojo is literally a 1 1/2 blocks from us and is our beach access too). Too funny. On the link you will see the unit I was talking about is in the yellow building the upper 2 right hand floors/ balconys. Our unit is in the same bldg but on the left hand side - 2nd floor. Cheryl

I thought I would message you since this has nothing to do with HCG...lol
Long story short, my friends and I are thinking of doing a girls only vacation. One of the women suggested DR. We are thinking we could rent a place since there are 6 of us. I looked at homeaway and may have found a place (looks nice according to pictures). My question is do u happen to know the area in Punta Cana where the El Pulpo Cojo or Bamboo restaurant is located? Or El Dorado Shopping center? If yes, is it a nice area? Would u recommend renting a place or staying at a hotel?
