I see them advertised all over and will be ordering some really soon but I just want to know if you can use them in your first 23-30 days of phase 2? Or is this something you start using during your 3 week maintenance?

    Thanks.

I should start by saying, "they are not on protocol; BUT I know a lot of people eat them in P2 and P3 with out too many problems. I just got some for when I start my next round. The only thing I've heard is that the texture puts a lot of people off.
Everyone is different (the mantra for this board) so if they work then great, it's up to you if you want to find out or not :)

They are zero calories and zero carbohydrates, so in my book, they are a free food in any phase. P&I states that in countries where specially prepared low-calorie foods are available, they may be "tenatively" used. So try them and see how you react! They are 100% fiber, so if you eat a lot of them, you might feel a bit bloated and perhaps retain water for a day or so. But it will come off once they move through your system. Some people don't like them, but you have to learn how to prepare them properly, and do some experimenting with recipes. They are good in soups and stir-fry type dishes, not as good in Italian-style dishes. They have given me so much more variety in my meals, they've been a lifesaver in P2, P3 and beyond. I make a pudding with the konjac/glucommanan powder (also sold on the miracle noodle site) with water, a squeeze of lemon juice, stevia, and a little zest and the allowed 1 T milk whisked together for breakfast in P2. Really fills up my stomach for only about 10 calories.

I've used them with success in P2, and P3. I'm terrible though cause I end up eating the entire bag each day LOL Make sure you drink extra water if you use them! They are mostly fiber!

I've used them in P3 and beyond but only because I never had them on hand to try in P3. They should be okay since they are zero everything. I never have any trouble with them fiber wise though. I have to eat gluten free so they've been a real boon to my life in general now! I think they are super tasty! :-) Tonight I made a beef stroganoff with them.

    Lady Smart,
I'm with ya on eating the entire bag, someone said if you soak them in hot water and dry fry them, it helps with the texture and let me tell ya,it works. A little season in fry pan, perfect.

I hadn't heard of that! I'll try that today and see if that helps. How long do you fry them?

I've eaten these for years prior to doing hcg. I tried them on VLCD2 and lost the next day. I fry them for just a couple of minutes, until they are not quite as wet as they were after I rinsed them. (That might not make a lot of sense.) Basically, until they are heated up to the temp you want. Some people boil them, but I've heard a lot of people like the texture better after frying. I definitely rinse them very well, which may be why LadySmart suggested to soak them in hot water.
