I also am 5'8". I was always VERY skinny (118 - 125 lbs). When I hit my early 20's my weight went up too. I discovered I had hypothryoidism (Hashimoto's autoimmune kind). I have been on natural hormones for that which initially helped stop the gains. I yo yo dieted, had kids, ate poorly and no exercise.

My highest weight not being pregnant was 172. I always had the mental picture that I NEEDED to get back down to 125 but soon realized it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to get there and stay there.

I am now just hoping to keep and stay somewhere between 137 and 140.

Don't beat yourself up about 125. You may look better at a higher weight. Also, if you are working out well like you seem to be you will need to be higher. You want to feel good (mentally and physically) as well as look good. It really sounds like you are doing a fantastic job with your eating and exercise.

I don't believe that your weight will go up much further because of your habits. Relax and enjoy taking care of yourself because that is what you are doing.

Also, the weight coming back on is probably just water and muscle. It's not fat like before because like you said it doesn't come on that fast.

Congratulations with your results, be proud!!!!!

Thank ladies. The scale did not go up this morning, but it did not go down either. :( Today I tried to eat mostly protein, veggies and fruits. I did have a tablespoon of all natural peanut butter with my apples (couldn't resist) but I had this yesterday too. Anyway, there's no rhyme or reason to my gains (or losses) so we'll see what tomorrow brings. I may have to cut out nuts and cheese altogether. I've been having a "sprinkle" of each just to eat something different in P3. I'm getting tired of introducing a new food and then removing it the next day. One step forward, three steps back.

The crazy thing is that I know that I still have some abnormal fat that I can lose. It's all around my tummy, butt and thighs. I was getting close at my LIW of 128, but by the first morning of P3 I had already gained .6 lbs (and I was still eating a VLCD P2 foods). Not sure what gives????!!!!

I have had a few nodules in my thyroid biopsied and all have come back normal. At one time I thought I might have hypothyrodism also, but my P3 and P4 always come back perfectly in range. I may have to look into that again, because my metabolism just doesn't seem right. Pre-hcg I have had a terrible time losing even 2 lbs, and that's working out all the time and changing/improving my diet to see results.

Anyway, I will report back tomorrow as to whether I continue to gain or remain stable at 5 lbs over LIW (notice I don't even hope for a loss yet).

Sigh..... Though my apple and PB was awesome!!!

Do you have hypothyroid symptoms? The blood tests actually tell you very little. Read www.StopTheThyroidMadness.com

Oh, I second that grammy! My regular gp told me I was fine because my test result was just barely out of range. Well the doctor I found that helped me tested for antibodies and found them very high! Also, we have adjusted my dose not just based on test results but also symptoms. Finding I feel the best at the lower end of range.

Hi Grammy, I just checked the site and don't really think I have any significant symptoms. Of course, there are some that apply - tired, but I do exercise regulary and do it very well, I can stay up until very late at night without nodding off, I would sometimes love to nap in the afternoons but not possible with three little ones, have regular BMs, even on P3 thanks to prunes, sore throat from time to time but most likely attributed to my childrens' day care, lack of sex drive, but again most likely attributed to three kids 5 and under (who has time or energy after finishing with them LOL!) and none of the other symptoms really apply to me. Though I am going to have an annual physical and I'm going to keep a very close on my thyroid, but somehow I'm still a bit concerned. Thank you for this site. I have bookmarked it for future reference.

I did lose 1.4 lbs this morning. This puts me at under 4 lbs over LIW. Still over my range, but better than yesterday. I did as you all suggested and cut out dairy again (though I did have some sprinkled goat cheese and walnuts on my salad for dinner and some all natural, no-sugar added peanut butter with my apples, which has become my favorite snack. Yesterday I also had two hard boiled eggs and I finally had a version of cocoa crack (1 99% cocoa bar - less than 1 gram of sugar, melted in micro, added some xylitol to sweeten (about 3 teaspoons), added some walnuts, froze on parchment paper and stuck in the freezer. It was delicious and I ate half of the bar (though the bar became greatly reduced after it melted and much of it stayed in the bowl). The only problem I had was the consistency of the xylitol, but I'm off to buy a coffee grinder in the morning. I had the other half of the cocoa bar today and no other dairy except two teaspoons of goat cheese again on my salad so we'll see what tomorrow brings. The rest of the day I ate protein, veggies and my now favorite apple slices and PB. Yummm!!! And I could not make it to the gym today, first day off in 12 days. :(

i love the pb with apples, too- a friend of mine got me hooked on that. but pb can cause a lot of people to gain when in P3.

Hmmm... though the few times I've eaten it (like yesterday)I have not gained. Should I try a few more days and see if I'm clear? I ate some again today so we'll see tomorrow. That's really the only "off" thing I ate today, with the exception of about two teaspoons of goat cheese on my salad.
