Hi to Everyone here...these boards have been so informative to me the last 6 weeks...a big thank you to everyone who posts all their useful information here!!
So, here's my dilemma...hubby and I both did Sublingual drops for 6 weeks, with great results...just started P3 yesterday, and hubby was up 2 lbs. over LDD (? Last Day of Drops) this morning, so he's already having to do a steak day....I was up 1.8 lbs. over LDD this morning, so am really watching it today....Could you guys look at what our menu was yesterday and give me your feedback..... :)
Hubby: Coffee with Creamer and Stevia B: 3 Eggs scrambled with 3 pieces s/f bacon, 1 cup mixed veggies, 2 Tbsp. s/f salsa, 1 Tbsp. Butter S: 1 Greek yogurt w/ Stevia, 5 strawberries (ate these everyday in P2) and 5 blackberries L: 8 0z. Grileed Chicken with salad & mixed veggies, 2 Tbsp. Marie's Blue Cheese Dressing S: 2 celery Sticks with Cream Cheese D: Large New York Steak, sauteed Mushrooms with butter and EVOO, Roasted Asparagus
My day: Coffee with Creamer B: 2 Eggs + 1 white, 2 pieces s/f bacon, 2 Tbsp. s/f salsa, 1 Cup mixed veggies S: 1 greek Yogurt with cut up green apple (ate those every day in P2) L: 6 oz. Grilled Chicken Breast, Steamed Broccoli with EVOO and garlic S; 1/4 cup Macadamia Nuts (I probably shouldn't have doen those yesterday, but was hungry and they looked so good ) D: New York Steak, sauteed mushrooms with butter and EVOO, Roasted Asparagus
So, that's it....was it too many things at once for the first day, or was it just too much food. I'm worried about not setting our metablosims high enough, especially hubby who's should be around 2800-3000....but should I be approaching it slower, or what. Neither of us had a BM this morning (TMI, I know :)), and boy could we tell....It feels like that where all the weight gain is sittin' if ya know what I mean!!
Anyway....any insight you guys could give me would be super appreciated!! I'm totally stressed and don't know what to do now for tomorrow....
Well for one thing you added eggs and dairy all at once so there's no way to know if one of them is the problem. Take them out of your diet, the nuts too, and eat only meats , veggies and fruits for a few days. Then add back in ONE thing. Eggs could be first or dairy but not both. Eat the eggs or dairy for three days. If no gain, add the next item and so on.
I'm on my second week of p3 and think I lost my mind. Went to buy a spahetti squash didn't have one so I bought acorn, just ate it. What was I thinking..... Thats not right... P4 veggie... OH MAN Goodnight nurse :0 what will tomorrow bring UGH!
It can be hard when you first get off the diet and begin your Phase 3. Everything I have read says you should eat on meat, fruits and veggies for the first three days. After that you add one new item in and try that for a couple of days. If you see no change then add another and so on. You never want to add a bunch of new things at once. I hope this helps and I wish you luck.
THANKS you guys for your thoughts!!! I can't tell you how much time I've done researching this whole thing too....60+ hours....it totally feels like my brain isn't working! I "knew" I shouldn't have introduced the "danger" foods all at once...don't quite know what I was thinkin'!??
Although I never read anywhere to do the meats, fruits, veggies, for the first 3 days...hhmm.
So, do we want to try to get our calories up really high through the fats and proteins the first week, or do we want to ease up to our max calories and go slowly with that also the first few days/week???
Ya know what's frustrating too....on the "TMI" subject (but I'm sure this topic is useful to everyone, right :) )...I really think that if we both (hubby and I) would have went to the bathroom this morning, that we wouldn't have been up that high at all. The last few days haven't been "regular" and then with all that food that we ate yesterday....that's got to account for a lot of "weight". I went to Whole Foods today and bought Natural Calm, and we have some laxative tea, so we're going to load up on that tonight, plus I think a stool softener, (which is just Docusate Sodium, so I think it's fine), and hopefully get rid of all that extra weight tomorrow morning.
We couldn't wait for P2 to be over with....suffered a lot toward the end of the 6 weeks as we didn't load the best that we should've...but now, phew, I am so stressed out about all this, and my head is spinning....that I'm wishin' I was back to my little chicken and cucumber dinner...I need a drink, but I certainly aint going there yet..yikes!
No you don't have to do only meats, fruits and veggies for three days. But you're only supposed to introduce one danger food at a time and now we have to get you back to normal before trying to introduce again. It's possible the BM issue could make your go up some but that's a lot all at once.
I am probably not posting this in the right place, but since I can't find how to start a thread....I am trying here!
I am on P3 and was told by a 'fellow P3er' that I could have Chai Tea with skim milk. I thought since I haven't shown any intolerance to dairy products I would be okay....and then I checked this forum tonight searching for info on Chai Tea. Now, I am totally sick that in one place, it was listed as a 'no-no!' I have stuck to this approach like cement glue-- not cheating one time...and now this??? Augh!! So Grammy, would you provide me with some feedback on Chai Tea with skim milk??? I've got my fingers crossed!
Thank you, hamp-young.... Both for the info on starting a new discussion and for the info on skim milk. Sometimes things are just the opposite of what I think of as 'good.' I would have never thought to replace the skim milk with cream....this is like a whole new way of thinking for me. Thanks again!!
