I found this recipe on Sparkpeople. I've made it several times myself, very tasty but I personally don't find it very filling. I don't use the recommended amount of cottage cheese though, so that could be part of it.

1/2 cup low fat or fat free cottage cheese (I only use 1/3 cup plus another 1 tbls)
1 tablespoon milk (or a splash more if on P3
Vanilla or vanilla creme stevia to taste
Stevia or Splenda to taste (you can simply taste to see if more sweetener is needed while blending)
    5-6 frozen or fresh strawberries

Blend cottage cheese and milk until creamy. Once creamy, add vanilla, sweeteners & strawberries. Blend until smooth. Enjoy! It does taste a lot like strawberry cheesecake, and I HATE cottage cheese but love this shake.

I'm in P2 and just made the best Mocha "Milkshake" and it only had 5 calories!! Here's what I did:

    In blender:
1 heaping teaspoon instant coffee (I used decaf): 0 calories
1 heaping teaspoon (so about 1.5 tsp) organic cocoa powder (unsweetened, of course, 10 cal/tablespoon): about 5 calories
1 oz. flavored sugar-free syrup (I used Torani Hazelnut, since I don't have problems with Splenda... flavored Stevia would work too): 0 calories
Add a little lukewarm water & pulse to mix & dissolve coffee, then add ice cubes and blend until thick, creamy, and frothy!

    Yummmm!!

On both of these shakes (strawberry cheesecake and mocha,) could you not add a scoop of whey protein???? That would definitely make it more filling. Would that be too much protein with cottage cheese and whey protein (in strawberry one.) I have a grass-fed beef whey protein that is about 90 calories for a large scoop....it's Paleo Meal. I can only get it from my corrective chiropractor.

I hope Colleen/Grammy sees this and gives her input.

Thanks, Donna! It IS expensive! I pay $48 at my chiropractor - on Amazon it's $75! If you use their measuring cup, it supposedly makes 16 shakes....that's $3 each, just for shake mix! I always go a little slight, so I probably get 17-18 out of a container. But I do feel good about my eating a truly healthy diet of some organic foods, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken/turkey and eggs and healthy fats (coconut oil and olive oil.) There is a list on food of the "dirty dozen" which are the most over-exposed to chemicals/fertilizers - and those I always eat organic. I will get back to that "good eating" in P3! And I can't wait!
