Hubby and I will be doing this program together (yay!) starting next week. He needs to lose about 20 lbs max while I need to lose about 45 lbs. Hubby does better all around if I do the same stuff as him, no matter what the topic. Should I just do a short P2 and do P3 and P4 with him to make sure everything goes well for him? Or should I do a long P2 since I have more weight I need to lose, and just try to help hubby through P3 and P4? I was thinking of doing a short round, doing P3 and P4 with hubby, and then doing a long round.... but I'm reading that it's better to do a long round first if I have a lot of weight to lose.
hmm... that's a toughie. I'd do the long round for yourself and help hubby along. For P3 you could just double the P2 foods you're eating for him and then add the occasional cheese or such. As for P4 for him, you'll be P3 so so again helping him along with adding other P3 friendly foods that you both could have at that time - with him adding some whole grains and such. Now, since I said that I should tell you that I've never done a P4 I did P2, P3 and back to P4... Hopefully, Grammy or someone with more knowledge will chime in!
You don't need to do P3 and P4 with your hubby. That's the easy part anyway. I'd do the long round and get off as much as possible. He'll do fine. Men usually have no issues at all.
My husband and I started together as well. It does make it much easier when you have the support of the husband and don't have to cook different foods for them. I'm frustrated because my husband has lost 30 pounds and I've only lost 18 in the same amount of time. Even though I know men lose faster than women and I'm doing good on my own. I just get frustrated watching him slim up. Anyway, I would keep doing P2 for yourself and let him move on to the P3. Good luck!
