The HCG diet approved list I have says you cant have turkey only beef, chicken and seafood. The reason I ask is beacause my mom is cooking a turkey with green beans and some other stuff I know i cant have tomorrow for my sons 4th birthday. I feel bad because I cant eat it. Does anyone know why turkey is a no no?

Well I must say that I ate ground turkey a few times in P2 and it didn't cause any problems for me. I know everyone is different so I can't say turkey wouldn't affect you! Plus I am not sure if ground turkey would be different that a turkey itself! Sorry I probably was not that much help.

Well, I've had great losses with ground turkey breast, but that is 99% lean. A whole roast turkey will have more fat just due to the skin being on it, basting while it's roasting.

I have eaten Boar's head roasted, lemon pepper and low sodium turkey breast on P2 and I haven't had any problems. I would think that if you eat some of the breast w/o skin you will probably be fine. I just think everything depends on your body. Try it; weigh the next day and see what happens, that's what I do with other items.

I don't know why it's not on the list, but there has to be a reason. You can eat it if you want, but you have to realize it could cause a stall or a gain. Personally, I wouldn't risk it.

I have a family dinner every Sunday with my in-laws. But, I told my MIL what I was doing and told her to cook as normal, and that I would bring my own food.

I bought just turkey breast slices and had no problems with that. I would eat it if it were cooked whole/on the bone because you would get a lot more fat.

It's not technically on protocol but the only way to know for sure it to try it! ;)
