I will be starting round 2 this week. I have stabalized well and have returned to a semi-normal diet. I really want to start round 2 at this weight and am afriad to load. ANY thoughts would be greatly appreciated TIA!
kelfromcal, I am just starting R2 and am loading. however, I am having a really hard time getting the food down, so it's not nearly as much food as R1. I just don't feel well if I eat that much anymore and I won't make myself sick over it.
Generally, the fewer carbs you eat while loading, the less weight you will gain. Granted, the weight gained from carbs is mainly water, but it still freaks folks out and it really doesn't help you in terms of less hunger, etc the first few days. As stated above, healthy fats...lots of them....that's what you need in round 2 and beyond...IMO....:P
If you decide to load I would agree to stay away from sugars and simple carbs. I am on my second round and gained 6 pounds during my load last week. I had only wanted to lose 5-6 more pounds during this entire round, but now I actually have 11 to lose and I'm sort of upset I loaded at all. If I ever do this again, I plan to eat Atkins-style/low carb and not go overboard. It's not worth it to me...I can tolerate a couple days of hunger not to have to spend an extra week on P2 losing what I gained loading. But that's just my opinion, and I'm near normal weight. If I had more than 10 to lose I'd probably feel differently.
I only gained 2 lbs my second round and 1 lb my third round.....by staying away from carbs......and I was close to ideal weight (less than a bmi of 25) at the start of my second round and REALLY close to an ideal weight (bmi of about 22) at the start of my 3rd round. I agree that the lower you go in weight, the less you need to load. IMHO, if you fill the "normal" fat stores once, and in theory hcg does not drain "normal" fat stores, then why should you have to keep filling those same fat stores in subsequent rounds????.......I may get stoned for that comment :(((
i think we've taken the loading to extremes in many cases. i read about people shoveling in mammoth amounts of food, even to the point of making themselves sick. i don't believe that's necessary. he says to "eat to capacity"- so eat until you're full, but don't try to stuff yourself- and stay away from those carbs.
