My dr said not to exercise, but I would like to go on at least a 2.5 mile walk. I was walking 4 miles 3x a week prior to starting HCG. I was wondering if anyone else out there is exercising and a) feeling ok doing it and b) losing more because of it. I was actually curious as to how exercise affects the HCG program.

I was swimming before I started and continue to do so... just be prepared for the scale not to move, or move very little, on the days you workout. The reason behind this is the added water to your muscle so the can recover from the exersice.

Also, I on the days I swim I add a little extra protein..but not much.

I have continued exercising through this round (my 3rd) of P2. I was exercising very heavily (triathlon) before I started this round and I continued with all 3 sports plus tennis only on a lighter scale. On the days I workout, I have an extra serving of protein. I drink lots of water. My losses have actually been way better this round as compared to my first 2 rounds. I am 3.1 lbs from my ultimate goal.

I tried working out, and it wore me out.

meredith- it makes me CRAZY that doctors say that.... Dr. S. makes it very clear that activity is fine, and that those who exercise "vigorously" and "continue to do so" during P2 will have less trouble with muscle weakness toward the end of their round. so walk away! just pay attention to your body- you might not feel like going as far or as fast as you did before.

I would definitely make sure that you have a protein and a carb before you work out. I did it on an empty stomach and was exhausted the entire day.

that's my problem Sade...I want to start toning and strengthening but anything other than doing laundry wipes me out and I get head-rushes. Ugh! Drives me nuts because for once in my life, I'm actually in the mood to do it! Oh well, I can wait 2 more weeks for P3...

I was amazed at how weak I was. I did a weight lifting class and usually lift around 40lbs, sometimes more, with lots of reps. I could only do 20lbs and had to skip reps to rest constantly. Squats killed me.

I walk 3-4 times a week for about 3 miles..I make sure I have my protein and a fruit before I do so...no problems at all and I am losing over a 1lb a day still.

I stalled and gained with exercise. I would not recommend it! I was previously working out 6 days a week very intensely and tried adding light weights one day, a 1.5 mile walk and an exercise class. I stalled and gained 1.4 during those days. Have started losing (though slowly) again but am giving up the exercise until the end of P2. Everyone is different!
