    I've been eating clean for 8 weeks. I've been working out consistently for years but again I'm not where I want to be with weight loss. So I started the HCG on Monday. First off, I've seen a couple of place where load days are two and on the paperwork I got with the drops it says 3.

    Second question... those that workout are you seeing a better weight loss or slower? I sure don't want to stop or slow down my workouts. I would feel that I'm undoing all my hard work. Right now I do 3 days of cardio/strength and 2 days of just cardio. My cardio consists of the spin bike and the strength is a plan out of the book New Rules of Lifting for Women. Just curious about how everyone is doing while exercising.

    The original diet states 2 days of gorging while taking the HCG.

    I wasn't exercising to your degree, only walking, but I would be concerned about the amount of excerise that you are doing that you may not have that type of energy that your body is needing during this. I'd be curious to see what others who have/done this while going through the VLCD phase.

    Good Luck!! I'm in day 7 of VLCD phase and am down 13lbs.

    there are lots that continue to exercise but I think they usually have to cut back a bit. You may also find that adding some extra protein on the days you work out will help out, too, not so much with losses but with you being physically able to exercise.

    Hi Spicymom! I am new here, but I have read that up to 6 loading days can be used because this phase is soooo important. I had gastric bypass surgery many, many years ago, so loading is difficult for me and fat does not stay with me long enough to be real helpful. I may load a couple extra days, just to be sure I have my best foot forward when I start VLCD.

    I don't think extra days will hurt, but less days will!!

    If you've been dieting over the past few months, an additional loading day is probably a good idea. You will probably be ok to keep exercising, just be careful and be aware of your limitations. Normally I didn't eat anything before noon on p2 but when exercising I found that I did better if I had a fruit or something before hitting the gym.

    for those who do additional loading days, you do those BEFORE you start the hcg. once you take your third shot, you must start the vlcd.

    From the protocol: Patients whose general condition is low, owing to excessive previous dieting, must eat to capacity for about one week BEFORE starting treatment, regardless of how much weight they may gain in the process. One cannot keep a patient comfortably on 500 Calories unless his normal fat reserves are reasonably well stocked. It is for this reason also that every case, even those that are actually gaining must eat to capacity of the most fattening food they can get down until they have had the third injection.

    hmmmmmm I never took it that way. Most the ones I talk to who load 3 days do the shots during that time. I think either way would work.

    As for exercise. I'm a lifter and I've continued all along. I do not do cardio other than walking so don't know how hard the exercise would be.

    I have to take extra protein due to lifting otherwise I feel weak when I lift and I'm not willing to give it up.

    an extra loading day won't necessarily hurt you, but you generally gain with those days so there is no use doing more than you need to. Dr. S. says 2 of them.
