I have a friend that has about 60 pounds to lose. She first started on homeopathic because she had to travel. She was happy on the foods, but her weight just came off crazy slow but she stuck to protocol for the 40 days and lost right at 20 lbs. She kind of got discouraged because of everyone else losing so much faster than her. So, I thought it might have something to do with the type of hCG so she went on a second round and since she wasn't traveling this time she is using the injections. I am completely surprised to see her losing at the same rate as last time. I know her average is .5 but I was sure she would lose more. She lives in Hawaii so I thought maybe she retained water because of the tropical climate. She changed her makeup and doesn't use sun tan lotion. She has stuck to protocol perfectly. Can anyone throw some thoughts out there. I don't want her to be discouraged and quite or start giving in to cheats. Thanks everyone.

20lbs is actually a really good loss! Tell her congrats.

    For a few questions:
    1. Is this her first round?
    2. What are the meals she is eating? (for example, I noticed I was sensitive to losing on cabbage)
    3. Is she cautious with toothpaste, gum, hand sanitizer, pain relievers? Some pain relievers and allergy medicine contain starch.
    4. How much water does she drink a day?

Hopefully we are able to get to the source for a sense of closure.

I am having the same problem. See help, not losing weight.

My coach told me today she thinks it is because I travel so much. I see your friend is in the same position. I am on and off of airplanes like crazy. People (especially women) tend to hold on to fluids if you fly. You can not see obvious swelling but the water is there.

I got a new scale that shows what percent of my weight is water. I am at 54%, and noraml is no higher then mid to 40's (for my age)!!!!!!!!! I have cut out salt entirely and take potassium suplements. When I started that I went down 2 lbs. But still holding the water.

It can also be TOM. But I think the traveling is the biggest issue.

How much water are you drinking catnip? What type of proteins are you eating?

Ava, this is her second round. First was HHCG and this one is injections. I have been over everything she is or is not doing and she is good. I know there has to be a scientific reason she is losing slow when she still has so far to go. And I know 20 is not bad but she sees so many others losing much bigger and it is really getting to her. And to me because I can't get to the root of why.

Catnip, she isn't traveling this round. And she doesn't have TOM anymore. I will see if she is using potassium.

Thanks all. Please continue contributing if you think you have an answer.

Hi girls just thought I'd jump in too. I lost 20 lbs in 50 days on injections my first round
this is my 2nd round I'm at vlcd 30 down 10 lbs!! I contribute it to 2 things those of us who don't have as much to lose will lose slower. This round I am very close to goal. I also have hashimotos thyroiditis. Dr S says those with thyroid issues will lose slower. He was right. I drink plenty of water eat chick and fish no red meat. I cheated once on each round:(. I have just accepted that some of us lose slower. Does your friend have a thyroid problem??

My first round I lost 30lbs. My second round I only lost 20lbs. Your body will naturally slow down after the second and each consecutive next round. I have heard if you wait a sufficient amount of time in between rounds, more than the required time, you will have a better success with the diet. I know that people get impatient and only wait the required time but the wait is worth while and not sooo bad.

Still good losses! What about inches lost? That was/is a motivation for me! Remember the body is adjusting everyday, also how long between her rounds.

I know Lady. It is good but she was hoping for exceptional. Her inches were very good. In my opinion, better than her loss. She waited total of 6 weeks between one and two.

Ava, she would have loved to lose 30 her first round.

ccmom, she doesn't have a thyroid condition that has a diagnosis that I am aware of. And 60 pounds is a bit above a small amount since she is like 5'1".

These are all great. Maybe it will get figured out.

fire- everyone always wants to be the exception to the rule, but the average for women is .5 to .75 per day over the length of the round. some people just lose faster than others. i was over a hundred pounds overweight, and still lost .55 per day. the method you use should not affect your losses- the weight loss is primarily from the vlcd.

there is also the possibility that she has a food sensitivity to something she is eating frequently while on P2.

the other thing is that people frequently post their initial results, which are usually great- but then the losses slow down, and they end up in that same average range by the time you look at their entire round.

another factor is that she might not retain a lot of water, which would mean she didn't have that initial huge loss. if it helps, the friend of mine who lost the slowest has done the best in terms of keeping her weight off.
