One more thing... the adipose fat, the fat the body has stored for 'emergency' is the last fat the body wants to give up so taking hcg / hhcg makes the body give it up! The body is so darned stubborn.
Once the adipose fat is gone, hcg is then ineffective; that is, it won't burn the structural or reserve fat. That's P2.
In P3, we stabilize to reset our hypothalamus so the body now thinks we should be at this specific weight--our LIW / LDW. This means the body will not want to automatically retain fat and return us back to our previous weight because it thinks it's starving. Think of poor Oprah or Kirstie Alley--they diet and diet and starve themselves skinny, then because they have not reset their hypothalamus, their bodies think they are starving so their bodies pile the weight back on (and more) to their previous weight, sighs and thinks "Ooh, I feel better now." Those two should try HCG!!
OK, thanks so much for all your input. I've wanted to explain this to my husband, but not real sure I'd know what I am talking about. I'll just have him read this. And what does LIW/LDW mean? I keep seeing those and not sure. Guessing the W is weight.
Last Injection Weight, or Last Dose Weight. That's what you weigh on the morning of your last dose of hcg. Then you have to stay on the diet for 72 more hours. After that, you can eat P3 foods. During those 72 hours, most people will continue to lose a pound of two. But the LDW is what you have to stay within 2 lbs. of, or else a steak day is in order to get your weight down.
I keep mine under my tongue as long as I can. usually the entire time I am preparing my meal. don't know if that helps or not, but it can't hurt right?
I WAS told by someone if I was hungry I needed to up my drops, but I don't know if that's accurate or not. So many theories out there, and every diet works differently on everybody!
Susang, have you read the original manuscript for the diet yet? It's called Pounds and Inches. There's a link on the left side of this page for it. Dr. Simeons started this diet in the 1950's, and experimented with hcg and different foods until he came up with a plan for maximum weight loss. That's what we use today. It's long, but it will help you and your husband understand what hcg actually does in the body.
Yes, I have read it, but just needed some mentoring a bit. I may have him read some of it. He was a science major in college and understands more than I. Thanks for the info on the LDW. I was hungry on the recommended 10 drops of hhcg, and after about 8 days upped it to 15 and it made all the difference.
I should have said I no longer have the hunger pangs I was having, don't feel as deprived, and don't even feel hungry at meal time usually. This has been for the last 5 days that I have changed the dose. I highly recommend raising the dose of hhcg if you are feeling hungry.
LIW = Last Injection Weight and you eat VLCD for 72 hours before beginning P3. For example, if your last injection was Thursday at 8 a.m., you would begin P3 72 hours later, or Sunday at 8 a.m. (Hallelujah!)
LDW = Last Drops Weight and you eat VLCD for 48 hours before beginning P3 if you were taking drops. For some reason hhcg doesn't stay in the body as long as hcg. I am not sure if waiting 48 hours also applies to RX (prescription / real hcg) drops or not.
As far as hunger goes, the rule of thumb for injections is to skip a day--if you are less hungry on a skip day, lower your dose. If you are more hungry on a skip day, increase your dose. As I don't take drops, I'm not sure if people do skip days or not. I'm thinking maybe not, and I believe I've read that if you are taking drops and are hungry, you should increase either the amount of drops you take, or the number of times you take them each day.
