I'm trying to find a template for a recipe card that I can edit easily and save, but print out fairly easy too. I have a couple on Microsoft Works, but there's some type of a glitch that's locked part of it and I can't figure it out. I've searched online, but there's a charge for everything I can find. I just want a cutsey card layout that I can fill in the blanks and print. Any ideas?
All I have on this computer is Microsoft Works. It's a template that's already included in the program. Nothing way fancy, but it's locked to where all I can do is enter data into certain designated fields. I'd like to be able to delete the pic that's on there and change it to something else, also, it's got multiple text boxes on one side of the card for ingredients, and I can tab to each box and enter each line seperately. On the right side of the card, it looks like the same multiple text boxes, but somehow they are all combined, so whatever I type just runs from one line to another, I can't click on each box down and enter something different.
Examples: Instead of typing like this. Where each sentence is on a different line. It endes up typing like this: Everything is on one line and as I keep typing it just runs to the end and continues on the next line without me tabbing down, so all my instructions are mushed together. Even if I start a new sentence it keeps going on the same like till I run out of room and it moves to the other line.
Does that help?? It irritates me because I used to be able to do everything there was to do on these programs and now I feel stupid that I can't figure out something that simple! AUGH!
I suspect your template is from Microsoft Works DATABASE. To create a new line in the field (aka hard return), press the Control Key, then press Enter. This will enable you to have separate lines rather than one long line of text.
Since the template is a 'database' FORM, you have to change your view to "Form View". Click View Click Form Design
From here, you can make changes to font, add or delete fields, add or delete graphics, etc.
To delete current ClipArt: Right-mouse click the graphic Click Delete Selection
To add new ClipArt: Click Insert Click ClipArt... Choose the graphic you want to use, Click Insert. Resize and/or drag to appropriate location on the recipe card as required.
Once you've made all your changes, Click View Click Form
If you're satisfied with your changes, save as with a new name.
Just remember that when dealing with this 'database', it is a form and you need to be in Form View to make changes.
J Beanie - Thank you sooooooooo much! I have fought with this stupid thing for 3 days now! I like to have mine on cards, in a nice box, in the kitchen instead of having to run in and look them up on the computer all the time. Love the old fashioned way of filing. :) But I also HATE my handwriting and I've been trying to make this easy. Thanks again!
